2 months duration test: The perfect travel zoom

For a longer trip through Africa and South America, I was looking for a suitable travel lens. It should be compact, light and not too expensive, but produce perfect photos yet possible in all photographic situations. After two months of continuous testing I can say: The purchase of the AF-S DX 18-105 mm was the perfect decision.

The advantages of this lens are:
+ Excellent imaging characteristics, especially considering the low price
+ For a travel zoom very small and light, even compared to the usual Canon travel zoom
+ The focal length range of 18-105mm is almost every situation (except for animals in the wild, this only works over short distances as in the appended Penguin sample photo)
+ The annoying changing lenses while traveling is unnecessary
+ Good haptics
+ A very high-quality processing: After 2 months of continuous use in the dust, heat, cold and moisture, the lens was like new

In my view, a strong buy recommendation for travel!
