This does not bode well for reliability. Yet I bother to order them in 2 separate batches to avoid risk of faulty series; and in any case within each batch, the serial number is removed.
Besides this HUGE disappointment for reliability, There are small drawbacks:
- 20 minutes past to record and report the outage to the RMA on the WD website
- Back at my expense
- Immediate replacement is denied me for some reason, so I would wait at least 15 days with a gradient NAS
- Run to the station to file the package, then go looking for the replacement
In short, for a purchase to be quiet, it is next to the plate!
Edit February 2015: to be objective, I must emphasize quaprès one year of continuous use (my NAS made the video), I have not had any problem with these discs; and SMART analyzes reveal no bad sector. So it seems that a strong y'ait original bad disk rate (which remains unacceptable), but their reliability over time is not out ...
