5 stars are deserved - if you know to classify the performance of the headphones properly

The headset combines a good musical performance with a great travel feature - the "noise-canceling" ("NC"). Particularly impressive in noisy environments, the noise absorption and can thus easily overlook the (good, but in my eyes for the price rather average) music performance.

Those looking for headphones for travel or noisy environments, comes to this product not past - to great is the power of the "NC".

I have the Bose SoundLink brought me last year and 3 am so confident that I thought about for some time, to provide me another unit of Bose.

Since I often travel, the decision was quickly made: a headset it should be. One who well complements my other headphones.

I already have the Beatz Studio from 2012, which I very effective use for 3 years during my workouts (which I will continue to do so), but I wanted next to this and my normal, "small" headphones to take away (by at my phone the company with the apple here were) also have an alternative for travel's. An alternative in which I virtually "forgotten" can I just travel.

Yes, of course - BOSE is a trademark, when you pay a lot of the price of the name and I'm sure I could even get at least a comparable music performance in lower price segments - but to me it was all about the noise canceling, the was stated in many other reviews as "Non Plus Ultra".

Far too often, I was already in train or bus and was disturbed by annoying environmental noises. Eventually I came then (again) to this noise-canceling headphones that I have during my research headphones 2012 - had looked at - where I ultimately chose the Beatz. At that time they got to me, however, the title "For my purpose is not currently gebrauchbar."

I now have 3 years older and much more on the go. Also, I am so confident in my Beatz headphones for my training, that I knew I "travel headphones" well and use a lot would also (larger).

Ultimately, I decided - after I had the new number 25 then looked at again in more detail in a BOSE Shop - last week for just this. The headphones were just perfect because of the noise-canceling and they made - unlike the headphones that I had 2012 by BOSE in - so much better. After a week of use, I can now say the following:

If the so-called "noise-canceling" (NC) is out, you can hear music anyway, if you infect the speakers to a device. So you have - in contrast to its predecessor - always have the option to listen to music. This should be emphasized that the music is much duller than when the "noise-canceling" is on - in my previous sample tests but I could not confirm the described by many, very poor representation of the music in "Noise canceling out" mode.
Yes, there is definitely a difference between the day and night, whether the NC is on or off - but if I had to decide if I hear any more music when the battery should be empty times, or even without NC to my songs go home, then I know what decision I have taken. The difference is there, yes. Extra battery so best always there - but I have some of Bluetooth speakers already heard worse performance than with "NC from" these headphones. Overall, one can say the best:
Simply 'ne spare battery (here is a AAA) wrapped up when the battery is older, then you will not even given a choice and can permanently enjoy NC.
The good: the (enclosed) Case is also a slot for a battery. So you let a battery in the headphones, you can take a second secured simultaneously in Case (I would here expressly point out that one - should be without a battery for more than a few weeks in a headset If - due to the risk of leakage. If the headphones so do not use times longer, simply battery out and a good thing, there is also a note in the instructions -. but it should also be clear to everyone)..

Small note nor to Case:
This is additionally a plane bulkhead connectors with it - although I must admit that I rarely used on flights in the previous past such a connector, the most entertainment systems in airplanes now also allow the insertion of normal headphones. Well, you can here probably say: "Nice to have".

If you switch the "noise-canceling" a, so you hear - if no music is playing - a noise reminiscent of the sound of a strong downpour, which is very far away, however. It sounds a bit like that, as if somewhere in the house during a storm window and it's a good piece of it away. The sound is there - but you do hear him only subliminally and when no music is playing. The first time when I had turned on the "NC" (and no music yet), I looked puzzled out the window if it had just started to rain - but it was bright sunshine.
If you switch the music one, the sound is (at least from my really very good ears) no longer perceptible - what you hear on the other hand, is very good sounding music (not matter which way you want to play prefer). With Spotify on an iPad, I have heard me times by different playlists - and could actually never find a real weakness.

Overall, the sound "bosetypisch", but a little less bass heavy than the Bose SoundLink 3, in which the bass is really strong (which I personally like very much - also a reason why I like to use the Beatz during training). Because of the NC Sound is pretty "honest" and very pleasant to enjoy, I think.

Very enjoyable is the wearing comfort - even during long listening sessions, the headphones are not uncomfortable or hard and feel great on the ears. Normally, at least in my Beatz, I had often the urge once briefly to take the headphones from the head, because they are a little hard but in the long run. So far, I had this urge not on the Bose headphones, because they are really nice and light.
On top of that, it almost feels like as if you were a very silent "bell" put on the head when you put on your headphones - precisely because the "NC" works great. And I do not feel, however, the "bell" on my head as unpleasant - it's just like a place of silence.

The true strength reach the headphones but only in noisy environments. It is incredible what absorbs the headphones annoying noise from outside. Even with smaller music volume the sound is fit for human consumption.

I will test the headphones over the next few weeks, more extensively, so using for example, on a long-haul flight, and several bus tours.
Other experiences I'll write in the "Edit" in this review.

So far, I can but hold as (current) Result:
who is looking for a very, very good travel headphones, with which he can forget the environment when traveling (or office), will not get past this headset.

It is important that you accurately assess the performance of the headphones - there is certainly no headphones to produce music in the studio.
Also I doubt whether (after all, more than 250 - as of April 2015) for the money you can not get better headphones for home.

Definitely you will get in this price range but no comparable headphones with which you as comfortable traveling (can hide or even very noisy environments almost completely - he therefore is also ideal as a headphone in the open-plan office or similar places).

Five stars for a top travel headphones - exactly for what will be the Bose headphones.

Edit - 15/04/2015:

The first long trip (12-hour bus ride each way, a total of 24 hours) is made. A battery change was not necessary on the way, although I still had the first batteries in it. Only in the half of the return trip was a change necessary. Overall, the utilization was approximately 37 hours.

The headset sits even after many hours yet comfortably on the head and is not difficult - a property that is not really given at the Beatz, when you carry it for more than 2 hours. Even the "NC" has proven itself in the bus. On top of that I do not really mitbekam of what was happening around me much - despite a packed bus.
This first "real" practice test has thus survived with flying colors the headphones.

I am now really looking forward to the first flight of this "silence-miracle."

Today I have the headphones used for the first time on the job.
I work part time in a very loud Cubicle, where much will the phone.

In addition to keyboard strokes can be heard many conversations that vary in volume - but I will tell you what? THIS IS PAST: -D

Incredible what these headphones filter out.
First, when putting, it's like a normal headset, even if you already feel a part of the "bell" on his head.

Then comes the next step - to "NC". Wow. The voices just now at the desk next to me, acting as if they were 30 feet away. Or just as if they were a very, very thick (glass -) listen Bell.

Then the next step - music when the "NC". What you hear now?

NOTHING (except music, of course).

Madness. Excuse my euphoria, but I did not expect.
Now I'm looking forward to the next really experiences in train & plane. Next week I'll take a longer train journey - am curious to see what I'll be there to experience that.

Now times directly "Edit" from the train. It is boiling hot - apparently the air conditioning failed in my compartment - and, moreover, the compartment is (probably soon in the face of forthcoming strikes) quite noisy. When I joined, I had my little apple earphones in the ear and took a lot of noise around me true. Since I personally, however, would find irresponsible for me, with "NC on" to run through the city (you can hear really almost nothing), I put my headphones on until the train.

Again, I am how to proceed in the office a few days ago. Headphones on. "NC an". Music. And - whoosh - out environment, safe journey to a playlist. I sat relatively at the beginning of the train, directly above the wheels at the connecting door to the first compartment after the tractor - but I heard really much of anything except my music. Especially blatant it is, if the stop a song and the next song starts only a few seconds later. You can then hear the sounds that makes the train, somewhere away by this bell - but nothing more. The result is in some ways a small vacuum, but immediately disappears with the beginning of the next song. If you do not notice the vibrations of the train, it would not be perceived with your eyes closed, if the train is running or not.

The nice thing is that the music does not have to be really loud set - "NC" makes grandiose services. At very very gentle music volume but one can perceive a few noises of the train somewhere in the distance.

It was really interesting, was as pressure by a swirling mass Gegenverkehrszug. I saw the train past the window whiz and felt shortly after some pressure on the ears. Probably due to the balancing test from the "noise canceling". "Interesting" is a bit negative meaning in this case because it was a strange feeling in the ears, while the return raced - but I think it is due to the "NC" no other way to avoid such a sudden pressure rise accurate ,

You sweat under the gizmos in sweltering heat?
Let's say: a bit. Since the headset is primarily over the ears and on the hair, I did not really have problems with welding. Ok, let's say, at least not with sweat, which was caused through the device. The comfort remains - in my eyes - usual pleasant, although I would put my hand on days with temperatures above 30 degrees in fire.

In my mind, the headset also has passed this test.
Too bad that BOSE not making even in portable air conditioners.

After another bus and train rides I can definitely confirm my headline to 100%, even though (but follow the "Edit" when I have a flight behind me) I could fly with this silence wonders yet to experience.

The headset is a true travel wonder in its use to me is once realized how loud my surroundings is places yet.

He has two or three things that I would not call directly as "quirks" that nevertheless rather negative notice (for example, the vacuum which is created in the train when another train goes by, but also typical for such large headphones "sweating "I had to find especially in the train [It should be noted that this occurs also with other over-ear headphones, but I would like to mention it]).

More weeks of use (incl. Two 9stündiger flights) are drawn into long, the positive overall impression remains. Also on the plane, the great achievement of the "NC" noticed - no, sorry: not to be missed - and can be flying for pure pleasure. Whether music is heard or to the headphones for the onboard program uses (for example, watching movies), always a great performance is achieved and you almost can not hear the aircraft noise. I sometimes scared me literally when I spoke to my seatmate and I withdrew the headphones to better understand him. I repeat myself, but I was here realized how can be a flyer so loud. Similar to the train so.

I can really only say: Chapeau for a great headphone that will accompany me on many trips. My next flight I will certainly not take without my little "place of peace".
