For the evaluation of pure vocal side I personally would only awarded 4 stars. Here the lifting of the thumb or lowering is heavily dependent on how one of continuous singing of Luke Spiller like. Some songs I find him but absolutely worth listening to (eg the fresh and brisk opener Sailing, Dreaming in the wind, one on the rocks or castaway). He is especially with a lot of "heart and soul" here. Overall, however, I find, have a change in between made to a female or male voice quite different for a change. However, this is absolutely a matter of personal taste.
The pure Oldfield is on the 2nd disc of instrumental versions being especially suited for expression. For me, the rest Oldfield has always been outstanding with its instrumental songs. This second disc raises for me the album on 5 stars. However, it must be noted that in principle, only the Vocal track was removed. But that actually gives the whole plant a special charm. The instrumental side has a completely different effect, some titles even gain enormously, such as the title song, which achieved very strong effect.
More important suggestion: always listen all tracks right to the end, because often come Oldfields guitar solos at the end of the song, but then crisp and intense in the best Oldfield-style.
Even the cover in the deluxe edition is a word worth: it is quite nicely finished, gives a valuable impression is good information on the album, and rounds off the whole new Oldfield plant off nicely.
Conclusion: Vocal CD 4 Stars - Instrumental CD 5 star + good presentation are 5 star.
Recommendation: If you have not yet bought additionally invest about 3 -4 euros in the deluxe edition. It is worth it.
