This is a book of memories, fragments of which the author has over his relationship with Morocco. The first quality of Abedellah Taia is the innate poetic sense, with an alliance of depth, sincerity and innocence. The book is well written, but the publisher has missed mistakes, which is highly regrettable. This disadvantage does not spoil the pleasure of reading, that is real. The intimate confidence, emotion in front of people that society seems lost describe an "eye" and "heart" true and simple, which are in ideological nothing. The theme of homosexuality appears there with the same modesty, delicacy, away from unnecessary fanfare. Hopefully the author will preserve him his strong poetic qualities, sense of people and things, to give other books of comparable or greater value.
