We mavait vaunted this novel I havent been able to help but mutter under my breath in louvrant for the first time: "You, my boy, heap interest in keeping your promises," Blessed be the lord Perutz, he fully met my expectations and I get out of this reading completely enchanted! Roman cleverly sprinkled with fantastic history, "The Swedish Cavalier" is a work full of charm and mystery, with remarkably built in dune plot above, the one that takes us from start to finish by the end of the nose and this for our great pleasure. The story is deliciously captivating, simple and poetic style at once, the main character endearing (though often deficient morality and a very very big social complex), the witty dialogue and finely written, melancholic atmosphere and captivating presence is particularly marvelous well proportioned, permeating the whole narrative without ever that it pays in hard-fantastic. Do not spoil, the themes addressed are not lacking interest and depth: impotence men face the destiny didentité theft, guilt and quest for redemption, the ravages of desire and jealousy ...
Finally, a beautiful fable, poetic and intriguing wish! Jai noted quune comic adaptation was done by illustrator Jean-Pierre Mourey and maybe I'll let me try, but it will come after the rest of the Sieur LOEUVRE Perutz. "The Marquis of Bolibar" tempts me especially the Napoleonic Wars: yum!
