What's in this book?
In just over 300 pages, the authors explain what the "value investing" and why this approach is winning. Then we detail the pitfalls to avoid using this technique. We can then enter the heart of the book with the selection of companies (economic analysis, industry analysis, company analysis). Then ensue 6 models to really assess the market value of a company. Finally the authors explain what model to choose according to the companies studied.
Having read other books relating to "value investing", it appears that this book is not the most suitable for the general public. The concepts covered are relatively complex and difficult to apply in everyday life. The approach is very theoretical with formulas that delight the more students in accounting and financial analysis. This is by no means a practical book which you will exit directly applicable recipes to select your stock values. There are other much more accessible and applied works that will avoid the frustration to a reader seeking to boost its stock portfolio.
