A comprehensive package that will delight the discerning food lovers

Here is my little test after 3 weeks of use the Philips HR7958 Kitchen Machine "all included".
First you must know that this machine exists in several versions, and in mine, it includes kit pastry blender, multifunction robot, juicer, mini chopper and meat grinder.
This was also intended to include this all in one with my existing equipment: Artisan KitchenAid blender and food processor Cuisinart FP14DCE: so all semi-professional equipment; but with a difference: the Kitchen Machine, although more complete, cost-third of the price of 2 others.
The first impression is the size of the package, so I hope that once unpacked all accessories will find a place to be stored in the kitchen. But it is also its weight that holds my attention: almost 11kg. So Madam, if you want to buy it, do it delivered to your home or do some weight training time to bring it home. By comparison, the Cuisinart with its 9.2kg due to an induction motor is not without rest. Therefore
The least that can say this is that lon lon for money: the parts are many; but paradoxically, one wonders where lon will store it all. If small pieces will settle down among other household items in the drawers of our kitchen or in other parts of the Kitchen Machine (trouble and whisk in the pastry bowl), but it always remains. A storage box as that accompanying the Cuisinart is a plus.
First impressions.
If the whole is very plastic and could initially not inspire confidence, the quality seems to be at the rendezvous. Clumsiness on my part made me fall some items, and share a great noise, no trace of cracks.
The juicer is (on) sized to squeeze grapefruits (and I mean grapefruit, true, who will not pomelos quarter of their size). I wonder if anyone ever really used except to press a good fifty oranges at once, saw the dishes that will spark.
The manual is kept to a minimum, but in the end user will see mostly on icons for the establishment of the elements and small flying over the powers recommended depending on the hardware.
The gag is the proposal to record the product for 5 recipes concocted by chefs from Philips. Laccès a portal with recipes to realize the machine fédèreraient the community of its users.
Finally to complete this first game, a clarification: Philips has a 2 year warranty while the KitchenAid and Cuisinart are guaranteed 3 years.
After unpacking, I launched into the first cooking experiments with robot. On the program:
- A walnut cake for the birthday of my loulou
- A cake with rhubarb
- Soup and potato leek.
Why these recipes?
The walnut cake recipe is quite simple: after mixed nuts must put everything together and mix. Fast but we will be able to judge the qualities of the small mixer and drummer.
No problem for the robot. Although very busy, the small mixer perfectly mixed nuts, without turning them into puree. He must still shake the device to the top nuts down to the blades. As for the mixer, the dough is smooth and uniform, not one lump, and view the result after baking, the dough is properly ventilated by drummer.
By cons, novices to the use of a mixer (like me) will quickly learn to lower the cylinder speed when adding liquid components, otherwise they will find themselves splashed.
The recipe of the cake is little more difficult, but will make us use the whip to whiten the butter with the icing sugar (which authorizes us to do something else during this time), and make us test the engine power. Indeed, wholesale lazy, I decided to incorporate pieces of rhubarb to the dough with the drummer in the bowl. So even if we end up with a spatula, work is well done without the engine reaches its limits. Finally soup leeks and potatoes earth with a few pieces of bacon will make us try the blender. It follows the recommendations of small pictograms, the blender is mounted on the robot and only then poured them in components (why in this order, because after he will have to pay the full dismantling in a pan). And there is the big problem: jai vain 1.80m, pour a ladle pieces of leek and potato asks us to be on our toes, causing some stains on the robot. Fortunately on arrival soup is perfectly and no problem removing the blender base.
So finally, many positive points:
The Kitchen Machine offers a wide range of tools for everything: a bit of sausages, pastry, mixing, cutting, ..
Everything is easy to clean the blender and small mixer easily removed (seal included) for easy washing.
The base of the robot has small cups preventing it from moving when the blender is good power.
The plastic blender less heat with hot elements of his colleague KitchenAid glass and offers a lid locking system.
But frankly, there are some small flaws, but minors in comparisons of the strengths mentioned above:
For the bowl, minimal: no mark on the bowl to properly position the bowl to lock,
For the blender, very little visible marks to lock the lid; positioning much too high.
For the robot: a few extra watts would have some comfort with consistent cake pasta.
In short, some a little more visible logos on the elements and a centrifuge in place of juice maker would have made this set a perfect synthesis of the food processor for discerning food lovers. The value for money seems hardly beatable. The hardest part is to choose the version, and therefore the associated equipment, depending on its needs.
