Carl Hiaassen has the gift to stir the mud of Florida society and to bring out the most cynical and most picturesque characters. He also likes to reveal the intricacies of the human soul and denounce its shortcomings such as greed, dishonor, spinelessness, mediocrity, lies and weakness. Faced with this onslaught of negativity, its heroes fight and win victories in their ways but if not always respectable jubilant! It is clear that is carried away in the whirlwind of events and tricks pass that the author knows so well written. A very good read for all those who appreciate the iconoclastic novels.
