The Z4000 is my second Sanyo projector after Z1. A total of six generations of equipment I let pass me by, as each had to deal with problems that made a purchase for me uninteresting. The Z4000 now offers what I have always imagined: FullHD resolution, high contrast (ANSI mind you, as the barn doors can pack ... ;-) and very good color. In the test of the "audiovisual" was a picture adjustment mode "Alive" recommended, but I am with the preset "course" in lamp saving mode at half power and some fine-tuning completely satisfied. The other variant for my taste a little unnatural in greens. The image enhancer as Smooth Motion (intermediate images) can be forgettable, they produce new errors that are unacceptable. Maybe it's getting used, but here was "created" in a location that nothing brings me. TV manufacturers advertise sometimes with 200Hz and more, but every time I look at the result, the disappointment is great. A feature film has 24 frames per second, why should I turn it into a sort of video that looks rather strange as natural and this has new artifacts? Is best to operate the projector without dynamic gamma etc., leaving the iris function also. They robbed the image brilliance and the black level is not so much better than it could mask the loss of brightness. The fan is in lamp saver mode so low that I would not classify him as a virtually imperceptible. The Stromvebrauch the Z4000 is then about 180W. The shift lens has a large adjustment range, which is well exploited in me. It is precisely this function allows the projector rather freely set up, without having to rely on a direct alignment to the screen. In my home theater with black cloth behind and beside the screen brightness is entirely practical. Of course you can see anything even with the lights on and the curtains open. About the black level but one should not discuss then. So a fine device like the Z4000 is one in a darkened room, otherwise you need about contrast which reaches a high level mainly by the low Scharzwert on so you lose nothing. "Light cannons" were and are among the projectors still, but this show in a dark room their true face, which is why you should not make the decision to buy depends on the critical voices in the review with respect to the brightness reserves. In the right environment, it already fits ... The Sanyo is a projector that meets for me the fascination of the projected image with new life. This feeling came up now with no television anywhere near me on. Sitting at home in the (darkened) home cinema and to enjoy a movie with the Sanyo, is a real experience.
