Here is the starting point of the plot but the story is not just only that, she is so much richer! Of course I will not tell you more because it's worth it to learn things when they occur and not turning a chronicle. The universe developed by the author is truly oppressive and especially in the first part. I who love post-apocalyptic novels, I was served. I was so taken by the story I found myself being snorkeling on several occasions. It's simple I felt that Amy was me about to make me eat at the slightest noise. Anyway I do not have a highly developed survival instinct, I have been in the place of Amy, it's been ages since I would not have survived. Amy is a heroine I like, it is courageous, determined, resourceful and absolutely no sissy. It is not at all prepared for survival but it has no choice and will learn progressively to manage. She may be devastated by the loss of loved ones, she will have to recover quickly. I loved seeing evolve its relationship with Baby touching was hyper, sometimes fraternal, sometimes maternal. For me, Baby and Amy are really inseparable. This is a duo, they are complementary and Baby is engaging in possible.
Occasionally, new characters will make their appearance in history. I liked some of them, I hated others but they all have their place and role in this story. Anyway monsters have many faces. There is also a male character, Rice that I liked and that will be closer to heroin but one can not speak of romance. Because he is not messing around in such uncertain life with twists every two pages that does not leave much time to count whipping. On reflection, the events of the second part of the book were quite predictable but as I had not thought about in advance I did not see it coming and that's good. This part does not diminish the quality of the book although the pace varies greatly. There are also some big surprises and big revelations and it's very nice because it's really good rhythm in history.
In summary In the After is one of those books that keep me in suspense from beginning to end. I am delighted to have started a series that counts for a time two volumes (that changes me pleasantly of extension cord series) and I look forward to have the following in my possession.
