At the hardware level, this package includes:
- The rotary wheel and realistic 28 cm in diameter, with a leeway of 900 ° (like a real car steering wheel) while hand-stitched leather. Completely configurable buttons (6 front and 2 on the sides) improve personalization. Need a key to honk? To turn on the high beams? To engage the windshield glasses? You stay in the vehicle master.
- The shift lever perfectly imitated consists of 7 position (6 speeds and one reverse). It attaches to the right of the steering wheel. 12 configurable buttons (4 red, 4 directional and directional 4) help you tailor the experience to your wishes.
- The Action pedals under the desk to ask: It incorporates a clutch pedal, brake and an accelerator realistic.
The steering wheel and gear lever are fixed on a physical medium such as your office by tightening the nuts safely. It holds the road well but nervous too should avoid sudden movements.
Comfort, all is pleasant and ultra realistic. The immersion reached its climax. No wonder this wheel is an absolute reference for all driving fans.
The clutch pedal, the gearshift and the return mechanism powerful force both engines improve the final result. The movements are as faithful as in a real behavior during impact or when passing over rough terrain. It's hard to come back at a cheap wheel or joystick after testing the G27.
The steering wheel is precise, fluid and silent, unlike Forcing Logitech GT is very noisy during the calibration of the steering wheel, or when force feedback is enabled.
The tachometer indicator is useless because very few games support.
Too bad a lot of games like Blur or Paraside Burnout: The Ultimate Box are natively supported by the steering wheel. the G27 takes shape in arcade games like Grid 2 or DiRT 3 but mainly in simulation games like the popular Euro Truck Simulator 2. The G27 is vital for this game, if only for speed management (Box H) or the clutch pedal (these two criteria are not on the Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel Gaming).
On the Playstation 3, I tested with The Need For Speed Most Wanted and even if realism is palpable, I prefer to play with the Logitech Driving Force GT. The design and organization of customizable buttons (located on the steering wheel in the same way as a PS3 controller) are better suited for the Sony console and its games.
This wheel is a great investment if you like racing games on PC or PS3. That said, for most nags games where the clutch and a real gearbox are not required, a Driving Force GT wheel widely enough.
Take the G27 only if you have the budget, if you are passionate about driving games and if you are very attached to the clutch and manual gearbox in H.
