Ergonomics #
- A stick appeared, just above the cross. I think this is one of the most important additions to this new console.
If it does not offer quite the same sensations that a real joystick stick (much like those of the PS Vita), the stick of 3DS is quite accurate and pleasant to handle.
However, it is unfortunate that the currently marketed console has a single stick - and the second stick or optional on an accessory. [1]
- The interface and menus are inspired by those of the Wii. It is difficult to make simpler and more welcoming.
A notepad also emerging. It is accessible at any time and allows to easily record-thinking animals or codes.
- It is possible to connect to the WiFi locally or online parties. The configuration of a wireless terminal connection is simpler, at least in regard to the 3DS games.
By cons, do not expect the 3DS simplify WIFI connectivity for DS games [2]

# The graphics and sound
The graphics are pretty much the level of PSP, on screens with better readability than the DS. Have also been improved loudspeakers that finally deliver decent sound quality. While these improvements are modest when compared to PSP (released in 2004), but this remains a significant evolution.

# 3D effect:
- The "relief" proposed by the 3DS is stunning.
Compared to the proposed 3D cinema, the rendering is more convincing and less binding experiment (no 3D glasses to slip over his own glasses).
A little eye strain during the first night of use, but that's all.
- Personally I see this feature as an option can be activated on demand, depending on the games, the situation and the player's age. Let me explain:
-> On some games like Nintendogs, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land or augmented reality games, the 3D effect really contributes to the charm of the Game By cons, on a game like Super Street Fighter IV, rendering ". relief "is very nice but not necessarily essential.
-> Of course, it is best to disable 3D in transport. This is stated in the instructions, but the reasons are obvious (dropping the 3D effect, blurry images, significant visual fatigue).
-> As a precaution, 3D is not recommended for children under 7 years. Moreover, parental control options are available.

# The 3DS games / DS
- Personally, I fell for Super Street Fighter IV 3D, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land.
The game library which implements progressively contains interesting titles: Mario Kart 7, Super Mario Land 3D Starfox 64, Resident Evil Revelations, Zelda Ocarina of Time.
Should then appear Kid Icarus, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, following investigations of Professor Layton (the 5th component).
- DS gaming cartridges are accepted by the console. All DS games are compatible with the exception of those that require the GBA slot DS "tank" and DS Lite. Will NOT be used on the console: Guitar Hero DS, Nintendo DS Browser, and all games of the Gameboy Advance.
Knowing that the screen resolution is not the same, the graphics rendering still remains the best "home console".
- The online shop for Gameboy games, Gameboy Color and "3DSware" is available since early June. She is still a bit empty, but you can already find Link's Awakening DX and Super Mario Land 1 & 2. It remains to be seen how this catalog will be expanded.

StreetPass #
This function allows to interact with the other players that you come across on the street is interesting on paper, but in practice the results are a little more mixed.
In fact, it does not cross so often people who take their 3DS and leave on standby.

# The 3D camera and augmented reality software
- The 3D rendering is quite good, but the resolution is VERY low. Also, it is not very interesting to export photos and videos made with 3DS to another device,
The 3DS camera can be an interesting supplement to take photos or videos funs but it will never replace a conventional digital camera - or sensors of a smartphone.
- Actually the "3D sensors" are especially interesting with augmented reality games. To ignite boxes, monsters in our living room. Taking a picture of Link, Mario or Kirby on his table is a pretty fun experience. A game provided free ("War of heads") lets you take a photo and faces to face them in a shooter rather nice.

Autonomy #
Autonomy is low (3-5 hours), but not so different from that of the PSP (5-7 hours). It is rather unusual to play more than 3 hours at a time on a handheld. In fact, the only "coercion" is the need to recharge every night his console on the charging stand provided. A reflex that is acquired naturally enough ...

# Associated Purchases:
- An SD 2GB card is already supplied with the machine, so it is not necessarily a purchase necessary ... unless you want more space (music, pictures).
- Screen Coverage can be a good solution to protect your screens (especially the touch screen). I personally use protections Protection Filter HORI, officially licensed.
_____________
[1] A new accessory (a kind of base, called "Circle Pad Pro") has been marketed since the year 2012.
Simply snap in the console and you can enjoy a second stick and two new triggers - for compatible titles.
If the idea is not bad, still we regret that this 2nd stick was not included on the console.
[2] For DS games, always set the WEP encryption mode, or purchase a special USB dongle, not necessarily compatible with your PC or operating system.
