When I use the present edition of the first part of the graphic novel of "A Game of Thrones" look at me, my answer to this question only "YES" can be.
With Daniel Abraham, who already Comic editions of George RR Martin's "Fevre Dream" and "Skin Trade" texted and Tommy Patterson, who adapted the comic include the series "Farscape", waiting for two artists in their field, the "A Game Of Thrones "to truly higher Comic Art ordinations help.
The drawings are (as you already could read Amazon's "Look inside" for the Bantam edition) vividly and in detail, what impressed especially in the larger images of the cities, the festival in Winterfell or wedding Khal Drogo with Daenerys. With respect to bloodshed and freedom of movement for comic is the novel not to, but without overdoing it. The representation of the characters may seem partly unusual - if one is biased by the award-winning HBO series. And one wants to criticize, then maybe the fact that many a little too often the mouth is open - or at the King Robert Baratheon representation Krone ("the horned Spiesser"). But this is like the only Search the hair in the soup more than excellent!
Linguistically Abraham moved very close to the original - that is the novel. It has sometimes feel whole passages recover before his eyes what the recognition of personalities and the spirit of the book is just overly righteous.
The story of the first part of the present hardcover consists of six "issues", including the backs - a total of 183 pages long. This is followed by a making of joins. The format corresponds to the standard American comic format, so somewhere between A4 and A5. The workmanship is very good for the price. As with all books from the USA or UK, it is not welded.
And now for some a downer - it is NOT a comic output of the entire first novel - it is only the first part of the first book. The action breaks out on the sea with gräsernen Daenerys announcement that she was pregnant. One might here perhaps have wished a better dramatic cliffhanger, but it does not bother me. Moving on to it with the "issues" seven to twelve in December this year. Until then, you can pass the time with this great version excellent (!!!).
For comic lovers an absolute buy recommendation !!!
