General strengths:
The German language version is in my opinion very well done, but the English speakers are in a higher league. Measured with other game settings of The Order is a positive example.
The game is graphically with the best that the video game market has ever produced. On the so-called "next-gen" consoles, it is next to the Ryse graphically beautiful game that you can admire. The term "next-gen" I set deliberately in quotes because it should be called "current-gen" the PS4 now. Since almost all the PS4 is still called the "next-gen console," I use the term also.
The narrative follows a thread, so you can easily follow the story.
General weakness:
I reach the last point on, the characters in my opinion, with too many clichés are afflicted. Without giving too much of the story anticipate two examples: The Frenchman Lafayette is represented as romantics and pull-tabs. Galahad is an edgier, noble knight (very British), the pride the Order dient.Die resulting dialogues bugged me in some places. Overall, I find the story too boring. The whole game is like a gentle, English thriller a la Inspector Barnaby.
The cutscenes are partially arg long. Nevertheless, one must here very focused, because you have to press any key, not to be Gave Over. The worst part is that these vary greatly. Sometimes you have to press a button, sometimes also direct the analog stick to a certain point and additionally press a button. Completely crazy!
The key game reaches its climax geativen when viewing objects. Without a hint to get, one has to look back sides or have turned the object in a certain direction so that another cutscene starts and it goes on in the game. Fortunately, such crazy places rarely available.
Another idea of the developers is the lock picking. I wonder why I do that in a shooter?
The comparison with Gears of War has to endure The Order. The fight deposits are always based on the following principles:
- Shoot from cover
- Sneak around to the opponent
- Looking behind crates and other objects cover
These elements do not have the game in my opinion.
The enemy AI: Partial extremely stupid. Even on "heavy" do not hit the opponent Gallahad when he stands in front of them. Gallahad themselves are partly embarrassing scraps of yourself, "was under heavy fire" when an opponent of what felt like fifty feet gives the goal.
Basically, I can not say that the game is bad. But it is also not good. It wants too much and is too playful. Ready at Dawn wanted to pack too many items in The Order, so it is to be "revolutionary". A panacea of the game industry. Horny graphics, terrific gameplay, clever puzzles, strong enemy AI, fantastic story. Apart from the graphics, little is left of it.
It is tragic that another PlayStation exclusive title remains so short of my expectations.
The game not worth playing again. There are no incentives.
For a graphic demo the game is too expensive.
The worst part is that out of the game really would have a lot more can be if they had been limited to a few elements.
To The Order is a game that does not know what it wants.
