A good mid-range Bluetooth headset

1. My experience with Bluetooth headsets must be very careful about the compatibility between these headphones and the device (or devices) with which they must be paired. So I used a headset Philips SHB4000 / 10 Bluetooth 3.0 that allowed me to listen to music on a Nokia smartphone that supports Bluetooth 2.0, but did not allow to take phone calls (which he was supposed to do). Now I use a Huawei smartphone (Bluetooth 4) which does not recognize at all Philips headphones. This gives the impression that changes people's standards to make obsolete products and sell new and not to facilitate the consumer's life.

Anyway, fortunately, these headphones Mad Catz using Bluetooth 4.0 works perfectly with my Huawei smartphone, both for music for phone calls.

2. To determine the quality of an audio equipment first I am interested in the bandwidth frequencies. I found this indication or on this website or on the website of Mad Catz. A journal mentions 20-20000 Hz, which is okay, but is not as good as the quality of headsets. For example I recently tested the headphones' HyperX Cloud II "whose bandwidth is wider: 15 to 25000Hz, which is reflected by ear when listening to music. Certainly it HyperX Bluetooth headset is not, but, besides its quality sound reproduction, it supports Dolby 7.1 surround headset while it is limited to the stereo. I also specifies that these 2 helmets are designed the same target, namely "gamers" (players).

Personally I use this Bluetooth headset primarily for listening to music when I run and quality satisfies me greatly for this use. By cons at home I prefer to use a wired headset. I probably use this headset also traveling because it is relatively small and a carrying case is included.

3. I think it is convenient to use headphones thanks to its well-arranged controls: a large button for starting and pausing and other keys (volume, switch to the next or previous song, microphone) are easily identifiable the touch.

Also my first impression was that this helmet greenhouse ears too, but I just spent a good part of the day with this headset and I did not feel any discomfort.

You can download the Mad Catz application on the smartphone that lets you choose between 5 Sound filtering modes: no filtering (off), speech mode, game mode, music mode, and movie mode. Personally I prefer the lack of filtering. This application also allows to know the state of charge of the battery of the headset.

4. The price quoted on this site (73 euros) seems reasonable compared to the competition. I added, however, that this helmet is sold $ 50 US or 45 euros. As against the price "advised" (200 euros) is unreasonable.

5. In conclusion I think this helmet is a good acquisition provided you do not have extreme demands on sound quality.
