The whole is very satisfactory for a medium room, and I think a classic living room will not make him afraid. If you live in an apartment, there is plenty to disturb its neighbors if we do not pay attention to the subwoofer.

The optical cable works fine, but for my part I stayed in analog to keep the volume control via the remote control of the TV. This is the choice and depending on your installation, you can of course use the supplied remote.

The kit is good, no hiss or crackle in the speakers or the amp, be it optical or analog (all the separate elements and cables away from the power cables). The red light encircling the amp does not mind, even in the dark, but think about it if you plan to watch movies in the dark.
Volume settings, the output, bass and treble to automatically record with an amp to standby at least once. Then you can turn it off with the switch on the back or even disconnect the amp retains the last settings.

As for the sound, it is very good, powerful and clear. The settings allow a good margin by envy. You can have very good high / medium for dialogue or a guitar solo, and independently adjust the bass needed.
For example, for those who know the video game Assassin's Creed 4, with low to +2 or +3 9, is already achieved a stunning effect by pulling the guns or mortar, while maintaining dialogue and impeccably clean audible.
Also tested with music and movies, no complaints, everyone will find a setting to his liking.

The volume of the amp is graduated from 0 to 50. The bass adjustment is -9 to +9 and the treble is from -7 to +7.

Before installation, I did a quick measuring cables, if you can help / advise some for installation before purchase. Keep in mind that this can logically vary from kit to another of the same reference.

- Analogue cable TV or sound card: 1,70m
- Cable pregnant right and left: 2.10m each
- Subwoofer cable: 1,90m
- Optical Cable Edifier: 1.50m

I did not know the Edifier brand, but the first contact is excellent. The price is reasonable, good packaging, the material is good, intelligently constructed (amplifier / power supply except pregnant) and accessories are provided (IR Remote + optical cable). This kit amply fulfilled its function. 5 out of 5 stars.
