Then I had a brochure from Staples in the mailbox and there was the Epson WorkForce WF-2510 WF offered ... for 66 I think! So I thought, why not Epson? The 2510 has Allerding no automatic document feeder, which is why I came up with this model.
Okay after the reviews here was the unit again halfway torn! I am but have been impressed by the scope of services and price ratio and have purchased it.
As far as everything went under with the order and delivery, even if there was a delay due to logistics problems, but I am looking at, because that can happen with any mail order!
Okay unit unpacked! First impression: The device makes visually what her acts and touches his stable so far at .... others said yes the device THAT CONDITION cheap and rickety and due: In this price range .... I find the one that 88 not short of money ... are for a device of this equipment, it is cheap .... but apparently are only rich people or the German Meckerfreudigkeit :-)
Device switched to Mains, used cartridges ... soundscape sounds normal and not noisy for me, as others complained.
I think you should make it clear that it always enters into a compromise with a multifunction printer! Since I do not expect that this device is all high-end features! In addition, it is a combination office equipment ... and a workaholic, I should not expect that the photos are highly brilliant, because an office printer is just more good when printing documents .... when scanning documents, copying documents and the faxing of documents! Clearly, the 2530 also has other features ... but that's accessories, from my point of view ... That is not to say that this device converts this bad, but that it in this device category is generally so that not all features are executed well ... my conclusion on that later!
After unpacking the switch and then came the supreme discipline: The integration of printing into wireless with Windows 7 -64 bit. So the CD is inserted ... gone through the procedure .... it came no wireless connection ... I thought: Okay, the other reviews of Workforce devices were probably correct, that the integration is sometimes bitchy ... . Just! The problem here is not with Epson but in my router. Although I took a long time until I got it. But this is also stupid, the Epson manual installation method does not describe directly. I pushed the Duch scroll menu on the printer also stumbled set manually on the possibility that wireless. Then you can see the driver manually from the CD -or- install just about Installaitonsmenü the CD and installs only the driver without the wireless setup and then everything worked.
But I draw a star from ... Because the integration must also be possible for lay people and for the installer should automatically display a guide! In addition, it should also otherwise are described in detail in the Network Guide! I have included the Ducker manually now, but it is possible that the automatic inclusion, after disabling all firewalls also funzt.
Then I wanted to give the printer and connect via Wi-Fi with the netbook .... therefore accessed over the network to the CD and then just click on "Additional Computer" and lo and behold, it worked all right.
I had read that you do not get the printer over Wi-Fi from the sleep mode. If the printer is turned on, you can select via the settings menu on a PC or printer, when the printer is going into sleep mode. The printer then switches to z. B. 10 minutes in the mode, while the indicator light is lit on the power switch continue. For this mode, the printer can be at any time, from any device that sends jobs to the printer wake. If you turn off the printer using the power switch itself, this does not work! I want to point out that the printer is in sleep mode, even if the Kotrolleuchte lights green. In addition, the WI-FI light is turned off and then on the display is only the time!
Today I have also tested the print function via e-mail, it worked flawlessly! Even with a print job via e-mail, the printer wakes from sleep mode!
What I was able to test were scanning, copying and printing
I did everything in the normal mode and it has been adequate for my needs everything. Think it's great that I can scan multiple pages directly in a PDF file.
I find the feel fine too .... no rubber or membrane keys, the pressure point of the keys is good .... though most keys work a bit rickety, but they can still operate well ... as I said you do this halt compromises :-)
Overall, I am impressed and would recommend the device to buy.
If you want luxury, but should move in a different category! Or buy the components individually! However, anyone who has a small footprint and want to have a low-cost device, is well advised here.
Update 08.02.2013
I have the printer now also connected to the telephone line. The faxing works perfectly. In this case, I have the phone connected to the printer. But I can not make blanket Aussge whether that needs to be done basically so. The funny thing is, when you have the key tone disabled on the printer, modem speaker and ringtone are also disabled.
I also wanted the Scan to Email function test, which did not work at first, because Epson has entered by default only links with Outlook, Outlook Express, Windoes Live Mail and AOL. I myself use Thunderbird and it is necessary to change the entry in the .ini file. I post here once the description:
"To use Attach to E-mail with your email program, please perform the following (please note that a function can not be guaranteed because the function Scan-to-E-mail is designed only for Microsoft Outlook):
Please save the original file to replace it with an unsuccessful attempt by the original file):
Under the path "C: \ Program Files \ Epson Software \ Event Manager \ assistants \ Attach To Email" to find the file "MailerDB.ini" (you may find a different path Search the Windows search for the file and open it. then with a double-click)
Right-click on the file name and open the context menu, then open it with the left mouse button as an administrator: If you are using Windows Vista / 7/8, the file open as follows!
Edit the file as follows:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
;; Mailer Database
;;
[Your e-mail program] -> replace [Thunderbird]
Type = Mapi
MapiPath = $ DefaultPath $
Mapi32Dll = *
ExePath = *
ExeName = *
So you only have to rename the other e-mail program, which is between the two brackets [] by your email program and delete all other fields, so that the file looks like above.
Now click File -> Save.
I hope that some of these instructions will help
