Neutral:
o Design
o power output (might just in stereo mode have more oomph)
o Android app (in principle functional, but rather suboptimal use, but I have to say that I use it often, especially for the selection of DLNA or Internet radio)
Negatives:
- No phono connector (Yes, I still want to listen to my old records!)
- HDMI switching brings some problems when you connect a PC that has another monitor to the second output (here the adjustment of the resolution does not work properly)
- No recording of banana plugs back possible (screw only)
Overall a very good choice. Price / performance is unbeatable in my opinion in this segment.
The long-term test I have to wait yet. Nevertheless, strong buy recommendation.
Update April 2013:
Would like to add that I am now with new surround speakers and the normal stereo sound like listening via All Channels Stereo. Sounds just great for certain music. I know that some people consider it a sacrilege to hear stereo CDs in surround mode, but I'm not so categorical.
However, a small damper is also added yet. The output level of the HDMI outs do not seem to be so high. By the signal attenuation over long HDMI cables you have been using very high-quality cable. Otherwise picture loss at more than 10 m length. Alternatively HDMI repeater / booster, but that are not all compatible with Onkyo.
