Style and Writing: 5/5
In addition to clothing descriptions performed by the author is full of intelligence and twists. As often with Abnett do not simply read "on the surface" but it takes a little digging and work his brain, hey it's not the great philosophy but develops very thorough aspects of psychology its characters, the character of the protagonists of the nature of the VI Legion Astartes.
Fluffique Interest: 5/5
The top, I already loved many Space Wolves before but now I'm in love. Abnett spoils us, now hears of background and revelations about the true nature of the Wolves, their customs and traditions, their thankless role, their fierce reputation but also their "sensitivity" hidden beneath their rough and barbaric air. A fan of SW will be literally at Valhalla, the other will love to discover them!
Appreciation profile: 5/5
A great moment of reading for me, I think it's just a major volume of the Horus Heresy and wider Warhammer 40k. A must frankly do you are focusing on by the bad reviews capricious fans that I think the book down unfairly.
* Let me explain:
- "Prospero Burns" by seeing what people were expecting catchy title so strong childish a book that was talked for 400 pages of the fighting on Prospero ... Just lol, I think it's pretty NiAl from them. Already it would have what? Book a boring repetitive battles and nags and how dévelloper an exciting story in these conditions? Hmm ... why you have a few volumes of the Battles of the quite insipid Astartes huh.
The book's title is not misleading, Prospero burns indeed, certainly it is quite short (on the end) but it is particularly effective, very well told and mixed with the outcome of the personal history of the human heroes. The end is indeed epic and revealing on many points, also launching new leads in passing, that's all you expect from a good book after a rising crescendo in the pack of Rout.
It should be understood or interpreted the title of this book by "why Prospero will burn", and especially appreciate it for what it really is: a fantastic diving alongside the Wolves. This book finally provides more information about their deep nature, something that was missing at the moment of BL works (the 40k volumes are pretty light, not to say bad). This is a book on the Space Wolves, and the nascent heresy. As said Ghost and other complete it perfectly One thousand Son, you wanted Prospero? You have strayed there for already a tome on Prospero, we must stop making whims and cry foul when there in no place to be ... By cons you can cry wolf. ..;)
- "Human head hero" as the I have often seen the reviews on this supposedly bad choices made by the author .... lol people whine like kids because they have not had the point exclusive view of an Astartes. Seriously must grow eh, Abnett could not make a book as exciting and rich taking as a main hero of the Wolves. They are warriors, worn only on war and its arts, they are more taciturn and grumpy ... (not very causing). The outside view was therefore the best option open to the author, allowing a gradual and exciting dive in the middle of the Wolves. Some found the personal history of boring hero ... I do not understand such comments, on the contrary it is exciting and provides excellent plot to book. His mysterious and complex history literally blends with the overall plot of the book, the évènemments of the nascent heresy ... without all this book would have been tasteless.
Overall Rating: 20/20
Abnett the great, one of the best volumes of the HH, I just up behind my 4 favorites of this series in the leading pack so.
