It has a base supplied for connecting 3 HDMI devices directly above, and HDMI output for connecting to TV / Projector. For my part I use only one HDMI input because everything goes through my audio video amp before.
Based you also have an optical digital input and an input jacks red / white classic.
The base is not very high quality workmanship, all plastic, but given its non-nomadic look that's hardly penalizing. A setup menu is also accessible by the commands of the helmet to appear on the screen, or so thanks to the buttons placed on the base, to configure your installation and sound.
As for the helmet itself is the most pleasant to wear headphones that I've experienced. The eyecups are very broad and include well the entire ear, and very soft even during long sessions of listening. They also heat up very little, and helmet despite its weight slightly above normal, is very quickly forgotten.
At its no surprise given the brand and the price is very good. Well-balanced levels, powerful bass and very "visceral" cinema hall way.
The location of the sound is just amazing, even though the "9.1" may be a bit too marketing, but the sound is extremely precise, and we do not feel to "jump" between two positions of sound. On Gravity or camera makes long rides 360 is particularly glaring. The advantage of the decoder and HDMI is clearly evident compared with a simple stereo headset, you can really feel the 360-degree sound with the right source.
Settings buttons are present on the headphones, volume, source, sound mode, but the biggest advantage is that the headset starts / wakes automatically depending if it is worn on the head or not. A big battery saving and very convenient to use.
The sound modes precisely, are not particularly compelling. The "cinema" mode gives the boot to the sound but loses some of positional accuracy and unfortunately we win a case of unsatisfactory response. Ditto for the "game" mode.
The classic mode is therefore ideal, with its impressive sound localization and better balance it offers.
For music listening, the headset remains on excellent, but for this price if this is your main goal you can find better very easily, so I would not recommend it if that's what you want.
In the end a very good buy, but to be considered for what it is: a pure home theater headphones, very nice and convenient to use, with excellent sound quality and a just incredible location.
