Gros: a film 8GB
Vehicles: 2000 music files 4 mo average (OGG format)
Small: 5000 TXT files of 5 kb
The results are those of everyday use (Windows Seven and with a recent SATA hard drive). No benchmark here, just a stopwatch, a calculator and SuperCopier software, which displays the copy speed in real time. Here's what I got:
USB 2: WRITING
Gros: 28-29 MB / s
Means: 20-25 MB / s
Small: 300-400 kb / s
USB 3: WRITING
Gros: 90-100 MB / s
Means: 68-70 MB / s (peak at 75 MB / s)
Small: 1.5 MB / s
***
USB 2: READING
Gros: 34-35 MB / s
Means: 25-28 MB / s
Small: 700-800 kb / s
USB 3: READING
Gros: 95-100 MB / s
Means: 80-85 MB / s on average (but peaks at 91 MB / s)
Small: 2 MB / s
I just wish there was a switch, because it almost hurts my heart to remove the cable while the disc is still spinning ... I do not always have time to wait snaps into eve.
Latest: the cable is a little less than 50 cm (40 cm without connectors).
