Control
The controls are typical Zelda very thoughtful and follows to a large extent his predecessor with regard to the key assignment. Many surprises are not likely to improve here. For that reason I will not go into much details. What is, however, a meaningful improvement, is the wise use of WiiU gamepads. The touch screen serves as a map and inventory. These improvements serve the flow of the game immensely. You now do not have to switch to an item pause and laboriously select the Stick an item and assign it to a button the game. Here just enough to look and wipe the item to the desired key only during the game on the gamepad. Furthermore, it is specifically in this part very handy when sailing (the sailing boat is the means of transportation in this game) just quickly look at the map without having to repeatedly pause the game. This wind was quite annoying designed Waker on the Gamecube and is the WiiU pad significantly easier and more fluid in the original. Another nice feature that only thanks to the Gamepad is possible, is the subtle use of motion sensors. One can in items such as the grappling hook at which it is important that you aim at a certain point, rather than to use the analog stick just move the gamepad in the air. Link moved the item then analogous to the movements that you perform with the gamepad. This works quite well is sometimes a bit cumbersome in hectic situations.
Furthermore, In addition, you can also fully play without TV on the gamepad. This is a nice little bonus if you just can not to the TV or'd like to play from the bed. Here one must, however, take into account that you invoke the inventory and the map again by pausing the game. The same applies if one Pro gamepad playing with WiiU what is optional.
Graphic
The graphics are another key point which accounts for this game. The style is kept in cel shading, that is a very comic-like look. So who will expect an absolutely serious Zelda a little disappointed. At least in terms of presentation. In spite of, or perhaps because the style has been implemented very loving. From the very funny made animations of Moblin to the stylistically unique clouds that appear after you have defeated an enemy, and more. Nintendo typically so very well thought out and absolutely crazy detail. In addition, it looks very good, despite his age of what is owed to the style. This is not noticeable that relatively few polygons were used here and there. The comic style conceals here the age quite well.
Nintendo has nevertheless some improvements. The game looks much Colourful and Lighting So the play of light and shadow have been significantly improved in contrast to the Gamecube part. Everything is clear and absolutely colorfully. Furthermore, it should be noted that one much further can now look into the distance when traveling at sea.
Here (1080p), the game runs very smoothly with a Full HD resolution. It should be noted here is that there where a lot of opponents are in a few scenes on the screen in order to see many effects you realize that the game runs a little slower. This is, as I said, very rare. Technically and from the style you are dealing with an absolute highlight.
Scope
The scope is reasonable one Zelda. My season was about 40 hours which I had collected but any parts of the heart and other collectible objects. In addition also comes still that I had played through the game on the Gamecube a few times. Should you as someone who knows the game is not only to play the story and some do side quests and explore the huge world so you can also create it here in the 30 to 40 hours. It should be noted here, as mentioned above, the very large and fantastic game world. One has to contest a vast sea that is equipped with about 49 islands which offer many small puzzles. Only it should be noted that there is unfortunately only four really big Large islands are populated and only three of them. Nevertheless, there is much to do. However, it is a pity as it would have been even more beautiful surely if there had been more larger islands.
The same applies to the dungeons. There are, unfortunately, only a relatively small number compared to Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword. In the end there are five dungeons, which are all very well prepared and bring places to ponder. However, one has the feeling that it would have more to be / have.
Further improvements to the original part
Further improvements are in addition to the game pad and the optics are the improved sailing and tweaking some rather tedious tasks like Triforce part search at the end of the game and the Minitendo Gallery Quest has become significantly more fun. The new sail is a great innovation since it significantly accelerates the flow of the game. The Wind There is no need constantly to align and you are compared to the Gamecube part noticeably faster go. A great detail enhancement.
The Triforce search towards the end was also purifies and makes a lot more fun. More I will not tell here, however. Also, the game benefits from the Miiverse. You can send message in a bottle which is the item in the same Miiverse. One finds during the game on the open sea and on the islands in a bottle by other players which is a nice little bonus for the adventure. You still find yourself often to collect the bottle what other players have photographed or written in the game to see.
Conclusion
Zelda The Wind Waker is a must for anyone with the action adventure can start something and has a WiiU. For Zelda fans, it is anyway a purchase that must not be missed. In detail, a lot has been improved and a great sense albeit discreet integration of the gamepad that improves the game at many points. Technically it, as described previously, an absolute gem which makes this more of style than just graphics the difference is.
Strong buy recommendation on my part.
