How not to crack a beautiful cover? This is the first question that came to me when the book was announced. And when the summary happened, I knew he had me. Yes, I have a weakness for the angels and demons. I believe that this myth will never disappoint me, I will be always ready for new stories about it. And for the moment, Angelfall confirms this idea.

The end of the world has arrived. Blame it on a single race, that is believed innocent since the end of time: the angels. Yes, in this book, the angels are evil, race to shoot, against that defense, fight and hide. They descended to Earth and destroyed everything. Since it is the Apocalypse, and humans try to protect themselves and survive in this new world devastated.

This is the case of Penryn, seventeen years, during which attempt to escape again to his enemies, sees her disabled sister be removed before it. Accordingly, it will have only one goal: deliver and save her angels. Although it must ally with one of them. Conversely, Raffe is a private angel wings, which must try to survive as such, as a mere human. Everyone knows that to an angel, live without her wings is almost a sign of death. Yet he will have to make do.

The alliance between the two I immediately liked. Even more than that! I took pleasure in following them, but mostly read their little friendly exchanges and filled with sarcasm. Penryn, despite the fact that his little sister was far from her and prisoner, she does not fall into oblivion or in sadness. Of course she is afraid for her sister, but she did not lose hope. And that's what I most appreciated about her: her strong character she tries to keep all costs. It makes good decisions, is very thoughtful, but conversely, goes into danger without necessarily realizing it. And when it does, it is already too late.

Although I loved Penryn, I must admit that my heart shot goes Raffe. Raffe, or art and how to change something important in mundane. Take nothing at face value. Get irritated when we save his ass. To be mysterious about what it really is, or rather who he is. In short, the boy that I like in a novel. It also has plenty of sarcasm, and like I said earlier, the trade between the two are sometimes really great. I chuckled several times, proof that I was really into it and that the games were unexpected for most.

Now about the plot. I found it very well put together and maintained from beginning to end. I did not feel any relaxation, I was taken in the beginning of the adventure to end. The author really knows the descriptions of places or people, to the point that I am appreciative. Especially a passage that I found really well argued, located towards the end. It is so well explained, we feel it and believe me, it's not necessarily good news! But I must say that this is the strong point of the story: the descriptions are really there to the little thing that might seem trivial and in fact is as important as anything else.

Finally, I would say the last fifty pages, is so involved that you can not let go, even for a drink. Because yes, I was thirsty, but the action and suspense were so present, I have not managed to get my book. I can not tell you too much, just that these pages were magical for me. I was afraid that it wears off and I'm disappointed in this, but no, quite the contrary! The story goes crescendo, and it's only fear: that the author makes us unbearable end, we will remember until Volume 2! then does she do it? I let you discover it for yourself.

In short, a myth revisited angels for my greatest pleasure. Originality choosing to take angels as wicked and humans as victims of their attacks. Two main characters equally interesting one than the other. Highly interesting descriptions to the point that it seems to be instead of Penryn, for sometimes our greatest misfortune. A delicate feather, allowing smooth playback and pages that scroll quickly. A very gripping end drives to read volume 2 in stride. In short, a very successful first volume. I await with great anticipation after!

"_ Where they took my sister?
An almost imperceptible emotion going on in his eyes, but disappears before I had time to identify it.
How do you want me to know?
Because you are one of those stinking filth.
Oh ... You really just hurt me, there.
This game seems to bother him. I feel almost embarrassed to not have another replica to sway him.
You must have noticed that I was not exactly on good terms with the other guys?
These are not the guys. They have nothing to do with humans. They are only shabby genetically modified, just like you.
In fact, he and his companions looked far more to living adonis, the divine faces and equally divine presences. But in appearance, they are just filthy maggots.
Shabby GM? ...
He shrugs his perfectly shaped eyebrows as if I had to miss my review of insults. "

"A man is lying in the corridor leading to the kitchen. His torn shirt discovers his bare chest. Six butter knives planted in a circle pointing to his chest. Someone drew the pink lipstick and a pentagram these knives stuck after its branches. Blood flows along the blades. Man contemplates his ravaged chest as if could not believe this is happening.
Mom is well.
I can not help but wonder if this is a good thing, since it has inflicted on this poor guy. She deliberately spared his heart so that he slowly bled to death. "

"I am never told me until now, but I feel proud to be human. We are packed with imperfections, weak, confused, violent, and we have a lot of problems to manage. But I am proud to be a human girl, overall. "
