This game there were already nearly 10 years ago on the Nintendo Gamecube. For those who indulge in emotional memory, like my son, this game is inviolable and free from any criticism. I understand and accept it. I myself have now in 2014 played it for the first time. Also, I am an absolute Zeldafan. From this perspective, I want to give my subjective input here.
positive for me:
+ Great story
+ Because it is a cartoon style graphics in the cities and dungeons still good. On field, the graphic is already significantly out of date, but does not bother now.
neutral for me:
% Eternal chatter, which would fill a book. Especially if you also read the side conversations, it is an interactive book equal. I like that, not quite, but is common here allerings exterm in this type of games. Of course, there is the salt of this game, because that one learns more from the characters which they then are livelier.
% The puzzles in the dungeons are quite nice, but a bit short
% You realize that the game is getting on in years, because today's role-playing games offer more than just running around and speech reading. For example, if you get on a ship, you can not ride it, but to get out again after a transition right on target. (Later in the game you can drive and fly but it is rather moderate implemented) Still, somehow it also has charm by cute characters and the story.
% A somewhat complicated character building and heavy Enstieg beginning. By the time you have but it heraussen, in which the various menus you have to go and what the individual things mean. This has been going more understandable and intuitive nowadays.
negative for me:
- The unmotivated running around enemies in Survey field and a kind of turn-based combat system I do not like, that's why I play Final Fantasy XIII not, although it is on the shelf. But there are people who count on us. Everyone needs to decide for themselves. (As Zeldafan I get up real-time battles.) Here you will encounter enemies and then change the view in the battle screen. There you can indeed hew with a sword, but no, it's not a free fight. It is fixed at an enemy (I can indeed change with one touch) but you can not run around freely in 3D and free fighting.
- The camera angle is not freely changeable. The field that disturbs sometimes if you do not look far enough ahead. In the cities, it did not bother me in the dungeons and it bothers me only sporadically. Not bad, but not up to date.
- Basically I do not like the separation in overview landscape (field) and detailed view (towns and dungeons). I have a world of a piece dear. The even had Zelda (Ocarina of Time N64) is already which older. So there is no technical reason that separates the. I liked that too at Terranigma. Of course you can not quite compare, because it is not the same genre, but I am referring to preferences and technical possibilities and no direct comparison Zelda games and Symphonia.
According to Amazon 3 stars means Nomenclature "not bad". And so I see it.
You see, it is in a game, such as films, of course, to personal likes or dislikes. All in all a nice game of charm that is reminiscent of days gone by and certainly a lot of fans.
