Customer Review

Julien Verbais-Mayer is a rich Parisian business lawyer, not really happy couple. Eleanor Solothurn is a talented violinist in a symphony orchestra, unhappy in love also. The novel opens onto the call Julien to a Swiss association, respectus, accompanying assisted suicide by people in their last wish. Appointment is made, preceded by three days of mandatory reflection.

In a flashback the reader discovers the professional path and especially love Julien, his relationship with his mother and his own early Alzheimer leading to the decision. In parallel moves Eleanor, which also will fall in full quarantine sick and make the same decision as irrevocable Julien.
This is in the hotel, 3 days before the appointment, that they will meet and fall in love. They change davis?

Jai liked the first part of the novel, which aptly describes the relationship of the son to his sick mother, the two main characters in disagreement with the love life that they lead, their professional world, and the discovery of their disease is conducted by the chronological narrative suspense. Until then everything is pretty well seen.

Unfortunately since lon comes to leuthanasie chosen, it hardly works. The subject is indeed avoided, barely sketched, the two heroes are again curiously shaped well almost, if not suffering it, or two it is no longer insurmountable. So we will discuss the lightness of the first postulate.

In the end this is primarily a (beautiful) of love story that, despite some recent narrative springs adding spice, leaves no doubt on the immediate happy ending. The subject of serious and interesting quest leuthanasie society nest here quun pretext too serious that it would require hijacked. If lon can understand the intention of the author, it is unfortunate that this part is too evasive and not credible then what would have deserved all the interest.

To read especially if you like the dramatic stories of love where the hope is permitted.

For a novel about assisted suicide in later life rather choose Pierre Beguin, with You know neither the day nor the hour.
