"You once told me why you chose 'Day' as your street name," she says Firmly. "Every morning, everything's possible again. Right?"
"Sometimes the sun sets earlier. Days do not last forever, you know. But I'll fight as hard as I can. I can promise you that." (Page 100/101)
After they have prevented the attempted assassination of the new Elector of the Republic, so returns something like a rest in Junes and Days life. While she took up her training as future leader of the Senate, one for Day only one thing: to take care of his little brother Eden. And do not die. Because Day is seriously ill and he has only months, at best. Ironically, now threatens the truce with the colonies to tilt and break out a new war, as the bodies set up by the Republic of disease spread in the colonies. Can Day and June save their home one last time?
Well, it was now. For the last time I sneaked through the streets with Day of the Republic, have me rumgeschlagen at Junes page with manipulative politicians and feared for the fate of the Republic. Saying goodbye to me is not easy, because the two have grown incredibly fond of me, and to know that I will now read nothing more of them, and they continue their story without me, feels weird. But besides this melancholy feeling remains the impression of a great trilogy statements that has no equal. Because Marie Lu has this outstanding series given an equally outstanding end that will stay with me for a long time in memory.
Eight months have passed since the last time the two have seen. Day, the June betrayed nothing of his fatal illness, remain only a few months in which the doctors are looking desperately for a cure for the national hero of the Republic. June tried meanwhile to avert another war with the colonies. Because the artificially created by the Republic of disease spreading in the colonies and if they do not quickly provide a remedy, the peace negotiations are declared over. But the key to healing seems to lie precisely in Edens blood - Days little brother, he will never again be in the hands of the Republic ...
My expectations for the final were great because Marie Lu has continuously increased and made more complex, deeper and captivating their Legend trilogy with each band. And my expectations were not met at the end, but even exceeded. We are witnessing not only the final battle for the survival of the Republic or to Days and Junes love, but also travel for the first time outside the borders of the Republic and get to know the rest of the world in which the Republic is actually only a small light and the Technical progress of superpower Antarktica has provided fascinating changes.
I admit it, even more than the developments in the Republic has me interested, of course, how to continue with Day and June - and whether Day survived. The love story between the two was from the outset ill-fated and also in the last part of the trilogy is one which led again clearly demonstrated. How should eventually Day ever forget that June blame for the death of his family is? And how they should deal with it themselves? Once again, it is again very emotional, painful and sad beautiful. Keep your handkerchiefs ready!
As in its predecessors has me Marie Lu packed from the first page and never let go and sent me here with a real feeling storm. With "Champion" it has created a perfect, albeit melancholy conclusion, has indeed often made me cry, but also very satisfied. All loose ends and unanswered questions were resolved, all conflicts resolved credible.
The end is some readers may not be quite like, but in my eyes it is perfect. There is no imposition, artificial happy ending, but corresponds perfectly to the character of Day and June - and is therefore just as suitable. Therefore, Kudos to Marie Lu, who has written an unforgettable trilogy for me. The next book I'm definitely back!
