I bought it for my father already being myself possessor of LD20.
It's a great product, solid and very effective for a lamp of this size and with one LR06 battery (AA)
The system for switching between modes is more convenient than the older versions with the new button located behind the lens of the lamp.
The only thing we could regret is that this new version of the lamp can not stand "upright" placed on the ground (the lens at the top). The LD20 and LD10 can. What can illuminate an entire room with just the lamp placed somewhere goal up.

In short, if you want an easy to transport light, efficient and robust. I recommend it!
