The first part of the book is done well and devours. The second part, although it is based on life moments quite mundane in appearance, is paradoxically much deeper into what the author tries to make us feel.
Although it is very enjoyable to read, in the adopted positive and hopeful style, this book is the story of a great inner struggle, with all the induced suffering.
On the topic of homosexuality, I personally consider this book as one of the most rewarding and best thinking. Yukio Mishima truly invites us in his life, no taboos whatsoever, without embarrassment expressing his thoughts and feelings. The reading is made very pleasant, thanks to the style adopted by Yukio Mishima: naturally simple, but a just simplicity that does not deprive the subtlety.
A must in my book.
