A powerful favorite ...

This book is a real shot in the heart. Once started, I could not stop. The narrative is so fly that he caught up to me whole. I must say that I was blown away by the plot. It is complete, accomplished. We do not see the strings that take the author or so really at the last moment and that's what I like.
Especially as Ludovic Rosmorduc attacks by themes that I find interesting, impressive but also terrifying. Religion and terror that sometimes arises, superstitions that give credence to the "miracles" as these can be explained rationally. The power also 'even, especially' that corrupts many men "good." These are subjects that fascinate me and I really liked how the author discusses and treats. The plot is therefore not to be outdone, since follow with pleasure and greed our trio in their adventures. Adventures that lead them to make discoveries as disturbing unexpected.

We thus find three characters of the first volume: Dungal, and Yorel Sixela. But do not worry if you have not yet read The Mound of Souls, this is the only real connection between the two volumes because they can very well be read independently of the other.
Going back to the characters, I discovered with pleasure Sixela a more interesting, more mature. She grew up and it shows, as in the first book I had not much appreciated. A nice surprise for me!
I can not say exactly why, but I also love Yorel 'perhaps our common fear of heights. But it is undeniable that he has a charisma that makes it very nice. Especially in this second volume, we learn a little better to know him as reveals a part of his past.
I also loved to walk a little further along to Ambrose through his writings. This is probably my favorite character and I was very happy to find here the old sage.

What you should know is that against by Mr Rosmorduc is cruel. Yes, yes, I said. He enjoys torturing his characters and thus its readers. The least one can say is that it is not tender with our companions. It gives us hope and a way out eventually 'bah non, he / she is beautiful (it) and quite dead (e) and then passes through an ordeal of the most horrible. It's infuriating at the time, but it's also something I really appreciate. No, I'm not sadistic, but at least it does not give a happy ending cutesy and dripping with joy. This makes the story more credible, more realistic characters. They do not live as funny things, and suddenly somehow, we approach them more easily.

Finally, how not to mention the delightful pen of the author? One feels a working style, the narrative is fluid, the pages turn by themselves, the chapters 'courts' give a steady pace to the story.

In conclusion, I repeat myself, but this reading was love at heart. I loved it from beginning to end. It could not be otherwise, anyway. A thrilling plot, endearing characters and touching everything in writing a master pen. If it is not already, read it urgently.
