The Adventures of Aliette Renoir: 1 - The sect Abaddon (Paperback)

Customer Review

This book, it's a moment that made me eye. Already, coverage is sublime. First positive point. Secondly, the summary is very keen and promises a full reading of pep and humor that I like. Third, the author is French and is published by Rebel, a publishing house which I have heard only good things. So you imagine that I had placed the bar VERY high even before receiving this book as a birthday present. When placing the bar too high, it is often greatly disappointed ... Except that it was not the case. Because not only Aliette The Adventures Renoir met all my expectations, but it even has greatly exceeded!

The first thing that pleasantly surprised me most was the writing style of Cecilia Correia. Of course I expected a dainty and lively narration, but not necessarily that the style is so nice and worked. Not only is it a pleasure to follow the adventures of Aliette, but the story also is full of authentic period all expressions most delicious one than the other. I have therefore been diving to 300% in the universe and the time of the novel in the first pages.

We follow the adventures of Aliette, a very special heroine not perhaps appeal to everyone but which has managed to attract sympathy from the first pages. Let especially the "brightest of the hexagon of vampire hunters" who is on the cover is a tad exaggerated. Okay, even a tad much! The young woman is indeed not particularly passionate about the family business since it is a little coward on the edges (just eh!). Being a bit coward myself (well okay, lot coward), I am well recognized in the reactions of the young woman throughout the novel. So I would not be one that will lay the first stone on this facet of himself because I certainly would not have done it better. In addition I also enjoyed his humor, I have more than once laughed at his little face gratin remarks and undeniable charisma that will delight in more than one (myself included).

The secondary characters are also not far behind. Indeed if they are not necessarily put forward as our intrepid hunter, they are all so well crafted they take the comparison to her face. Especially Lawrence and Sytry which are the two main male protagonists. Do not lie to us, they are both highly swoonworthy (ie seductive, hot, caliente, the relief-I-want-it-even-in-the-house etc ...). They also all two radically different characters if there will necessarily something for everyone. And since you ask most definitely, my tastes lean greatly on the side of Lawrence. After I have a few more reservations regarding the character of Sytry which is quite elusive in its genre. Therefore I had more trouble attach myself and I kept a distance with the man throughout my reading. Maybe he will catch up in advance that Lawrence took in my heart during the second volume?

The plot is itself well conducted and the mystery remained around me until the end. The developed world is also much fun to discover and loved to follow the various twists and trials through which our characters, made even tastier by the reactions and thoughts of Aliette. In short, the cocktail is explosive and has totally taken my case.

To conclude, I would simply say that Volume 1 of Aliette Adventures Renoir was a true delight! I loved my reading and I had a great time thanks to a colorful heroin and a sublime pen. I can only advise you to indulge yourself and fall in love with the hunter rather special vampires!
