It's been a long time since I had not read a fantasy novel as addictive. Stormdancer is not a dark work out as many novels lately. In truth, it could easily be seen as a young adult novel without demerits. Strong heroine will rise against tyranny in place is reminiscent of a Hunger Games. However, LOEUVRE stands out because of its universe and the link with its heroine qu'entretien griffin. The first pages require a small light adaptation time with an author who uses a lot of words from the Japanese culture. Large manga readers or more generally Japanese cultures are likely more comfortable and will feel at home with terms like Kitsune, Shogun, Seppuku ... For others, a glossary is available at the end of the novel, and then the words Specific tend to disappear with the advance of history. Note that this is an imaginary world of pure fantasy in a steampunk style at the time of the samurai. Steampunk designating the technological advances that have no place at the time called into question (we have ships flying for example). The other great asset of the book after his world is the relationship we have between the heroine and Yukiko Griffin. These leaving any two bad feet and eventually tame each other and exchange is a real treat to read. Some made a rapprochement with Eragon. Honestly, I have not read it so I can not say but I doubt Eragon is custodian of such a link (the trilogy of Mercedes Lackey Arrows is the oldest example). Another detail, if the book can be likened to the young adult, there is a male writer and I must say that I took a crazy fun reading the lunch that made the author all his romances lambda . I do not say too much but just know that I loved the treatment of this romance by the author. Finally, say that this is an original novel would be a lie since we have a path more lambda. However, the frenzied pace, the colorful characters and original universe make this first volume a read that I highly recommend and hope to soon have the following (note that the end of volume is most satisfactory).
