A really good phone with some detail and weaknesses

I had about 3 months, the opportunity to work with the Samsung Ativ S to gather detailed experiences with Windows Phone 8, so for me it was a logical consequence, to create a WP8 device, when it came to the switch from traditional phone to smartphone , Of the 3 possible candidates Anroid, Apple and I feel WP8 WP8 as by far the most successful system. I am fascinated by the simplicity of the user interface, everything is logical and if you have worked for a few days so, each new program / app by itself opens up and you can almost blindly operate everything. Especially the seemingly endless ways to make up the Home screen according to your wishes and requirements, is one of the great advantages of WP (8) for me.
The only exception is the absolutely primitive music player, for which there is no better alternative in the AppStore, here has Nokia and / or Microsoft urgently do something!
I have of course lots of comparisons in acquaintances and family and can tell where the strengths and weaknesses of the respective operating systems are therefore quite.
I think WP8 class, everyone should look at times completely unbiased.
My first WP8 Lumia Phone was the 620, which has totally convinced me in almost every respect, most of the PL ratio. Unfortunately, the camera of the 620s is absolutely below average, no idea what the various testers and reviewers have since applied for extremely low standards. It's a pity the camera was ultimately the reason why I have returned the 620s again and exchanged the 1020s.
Finally, I wanted to use a modern smartphone in full - and there are fairly reasonable Photos precisely also.
About the Camera of 1020 was incredibly written and praised much. Undoubtedly, it makes for mobile ratios really good photos and can relatively easily the most compact cameras put into the bag.
Despite very good image quality is an absolute no-go for me that it is not possible to customize the resolution. So there is either the possibility, with full resolution (38MP + automatic 5MP) or just to take pictures with 5MP. What is this ??? Each 80 EUR Digital camera has the option to adjust the resolution according to your wishes in several steps to your own needs. This is really a total botch, Nokia!
In addition, the user interface of Nokia's app "Pro Cam" is underwhelming, there's tremendous potential exists for improvement. Also disappointed me the built (xenon) flash of Lumia 1020 - because I see no appreciable advantage over the LEDs that are used otherwise. Above all, the flash produces a strong red-eye effect in almost all people. Because Nokia has made the greatest mistake - namely, the arrangement of the flash unit in close proximity to the lens, causing this red-eye effect even more.
A very big weakness in this context is of course the lack of option, the internal memory of 1020 (32GB) through a micro SD card to expand. This is in my view not only in terms of the huge photo files is a disadvantage, but also in terms of music that also forced must pass the internal phone memory. Since one can only hope that the unit never gets broken, because then all data will be lost (by Clouds any form, I think so far absolutely nothing and so remains only the measure, store all important data regularly to an external hard drive. This is extremely weak.
In durschnittlicher use (including regularly as MP3 player via Bluetooth to your car radio) creates 1020s my two days just so, but I switch it at night from 23h to 5: 30h from.
That's OK, but not that the battery is replaceable, is simply embarrassing!
Now a few words about the case and the haptics. The 1020 is really very well made and well understood really good, but I think it's just too big and heavy. With one hand it is easy to not reasonably use, even my really big hands are not enough there, I have often embrace in order to achieve all the "keys". Even that's too bad, and really unnecessary, because a display of equal quality "would be completely sufficient also with 3.7. A minus receives the 1020s housing for the thick chunks behind it, where the Zeiss lens is. Of course, the lens takes place but this one has the huge disadvantage that the mobile phone is almost impossible to use, if it is on the table, because it tilts away-in all directions. This sucks enormous and requires basically to put the device in one hand and with the other to use. you get used to over time, but it's not ideal.
All in all, the 1020 is much, excellent workmanship and offers with its überdurschnittlichen for Smartphone ratios camera really great image quality, making it a really useful all-in-one device.
Unfortunately, it also has some weaknesses, above all weight and size, which restrict it in everyday life, in my opinion already.
Allersings I really must say that the whole concept Lumia 1020 quite convinced and that includes in addition to the great camera, especially the excellent Nokia (offline) Navi and the truly superior app Nokia Music, the cell phone (even at home in the W-LAN network) make it a fabulous music player with endless possibilities and Performers !!
With a smaller (shallower) and lighter body and a micro SD card slot of this mobile phone would definitely deserves 5 stars, so it remains in solid 4 stars.
It can also be the very nice camera grip change anything, although it simplifies operation while shooting noticeable, but the additional battery is also there rather a nice gimmick rather than a real extension, because you can not use targeted its additional charge, but the phone is gealden immediately, even if the need is not ..
I would imagine that at some point a reasonable model Nokia bring somewhere 620-1020, with a camera of the upper middle class, a memory card slot, a smaller display (and housing) and a better (replaceable) battery. I buy myself immediately and then the 5 stars are tangible.

Addendum 02.08.2014: Had the Lumia 1020 made yesterday at a party here and there were a lot of really nice situations, I have but then a whole bunch of pictures. I can only hope that the hosts do not want these images ... the shots are useless to 100%! On each (!) Picture all people have such exaggerated red and gaudy eye that it is no longer increasing. The effect is so enormously on that the images are not to work, because these spots even extend beyond the eye. The fact that this problem, which I had already briefly discussed in my original review, is so blatant, I did not expect and so the All-in-One utility of the 1020s is incredibly highly restricted. It remains a no other choice, as in addition to the 1020s still carry a separate camera if you want to photograph people in the interior.
I take that as a negative, I said 1020 so that an extra star depart, because it is an integral part of this device for me. Since Nokia leads the camera as the ultimate selling point for the 1020 into the field, I have to highly evaluate such a negative aspect accordingly.
