When I received the device, I was thrilled by the write performance and its tiny dimensions, but which can still read 18 different card types.
Write tests with a 16GB Class10 SDHC card attested me read and write rates of around 20MB per second, which in and of itself is a great value for such a tiny and absolutely portable card reader.
In addition, contrary to some assertions in other reviews is the card reader VERY WELL bootable unless it is introduced bootable media and the motherboard of the computer that allows booting from USB devices (which should be obvious).
And he is recognized directly under both Windows and Linux.
In itself, therefore, a very successful device would think if it were not for the BUT.
BUT:
And although I have discovered the same defect already in two identical card readers.
After about four weeks of use is adopted the first of these card readers by the LED remained steady red during initialisation, and has been recognized neither Windows nor Linux, with or without an inserted SD card.
After that I briefly AVIDES contacted and the defective reported and received a day later without any cost a new sent (for the fast support due AVIDES lob).
So it went on, the performance values remained as its predecessor at about 20MB per second read / write.
And today the same problem again, the LED remains steady red, and is recognized neither Windows and Linux.
For this reason, I can therefore say NO BUY recommendation, since the device is a real bargain in itself for the price of 3-4, and the necessary power, which is also still considerably expensive card readers need not hide, but because of the failure rate twice with me occurring after 4 and 3 weeks, is not recommendable.
I hope I could help you with this review at your decision, and I will look for a replacement, meanwhile, which also list may cost a little more.
In the hope that at least a little expensive which lasts longer than four weeks.
If you still have questions, please leave a comment quiet.
In this sense a joyful festive season.
