Having eaten several Makita - battery - devices have it was time to entschreiden also times for radio. The choice on the BMR 105 fell for the digital radio. I had something like that is not, and was (and still am) amazed. Class ... no noise and Co. Now the device: It is very robust and even with the battery BL 1830 relative with about 5 kg but this does not detract from the robustness. The tuning (programming) is relatively simple and the reception (with FM) quite well despite the small antenna (also due to the local conditions). The display is clearly divided into blue and the rest of the settings are no problem. It is a high quality unit with a future ... just because of the Digital Radio. And that was the main reason for the purchase. On the inside of the device is still a Aschluß for a mini-USB for updates ... but I've not yet tested. The battery BL 1830 should be drinne least 10 hours of music. Because I can make love to empty my batteries :-)
The only thing that might be missing is a USB - port on the front ... because you could also play "his" music. But it's just a job site radio .... nothing more, nothing less but a sturdy.
But one should not forget that makes this device with the battery series of Makita sense; Although it is a power supply available but that is only one power supply and not suitable for charging the batteries. The price is typical Makita relatively high. And after the purchase, you can renew at Makita warranty to 3 years on the radio yet. Has what.
Conclusion: A rugged radio for outdoors; Thanks to digital radio future. And for the barbecue also fine. Those looking for a good, future-proof radio should opt for the BMR 105. And the quality is on a professional level. Unfortunately, the price (although not purchased from Amazon).
I have not regretted the purchase and give 5 star.
