A slightly different projector ... and that's good!

In twenty years of working as a computer teacher I've seen all sorts of projectors and could pretty much just list the features My beamer:
- Should not cost the same 1000 Euros
- At least WXGA, so that Office 2010 can be put to good use
- If it's not too loud (which I've heard for jet engines ...)
- Meaningful connections
- Good brightness for Tageslichtprässentationen
- Preferably, a lens shift because Keystone / Keystone makes good resolution canceled out

Actually, this projector was too expensive for my idea, because for the money already you get even a full HD projector. Two things strike me but then let read it:
1) I bought an Amazon Warehouse Deal device for not even 600 Euros
2.) is the feature "Interactive Projector / whiteboard software" for the training operation an interesting argument

So ordered quickly and the next day had the package in his hands. The package is very neat:
- Carrying Case
- Different power cord (D-Schuko, UK, CH)
- VGA cable
- RCA video cable
- USB cable (mini-USB to USB-A connector)
- Remote control with batteries
- Acer-Pen
- Software: NX-whiteboard-CD, Manual CD, LAN Presentation CD

For a meaningful assessment I still waited for an electric screen and after it hung on the wall all through plays.
And I really had fun on the short-throw lens! How many times have I align Beamer, with cartons build pedestals or tables need to push through the room cross until there was a reasonably acceptable image!
And now? A 3-meter screen (!) And the projector is just 1.30 meters in front of it! How cool is that? I've worked with Ultra-Short Throw projectors that stick but then right in front of the screen and start at 1.5 k.
Great for presentations is that you can stand in front of the screen without being blinded by the projector. On Lens shift I can do without now that the projector casts the image diagonally upward, so does not need to be tilted but just need a straight face and the image is then also just on the canvas.

But now times differentiated ...
... From the perspective of speakers:
The projector delivers a bright, sharp picture in huge size in a short distance and low noise escaped Lung. The menu is diverse settings can be made. The cordless Acer-Pen allows computer control of the screen like a mouse (left mouse button, right mouse button and scroll wheel) and is charged via the USB cable, which connects the projector to the computer during the presentation.
With the NX software can on the current projector screen (and also without beamer on the screen) painted, be marked and written off the plane and be displayed, printed out or stored and even a "Video" with max. 5fps can be recorded and much more. I would micht angered genuine, if I had bought the version without pen and without software. The control via LAN I have not yet tested and the "Player" function not inserted USB sticks.
... From the perspective of a theater friend:
There are certainly better beamer, but as cinema just a "nice side effect" is, here is my subjective impression. The short throw lens shows its pitfalls if the Beamerleinwand not 100% even, for example in rolling screens because every bump will mercilessly highlighted by the extreme angle of incidence. But if you look at the film and not just the screen, then the projector shows good sharpness with good colors (rainbow effect is due to the system of course present, but is not perceived by me, as a rule). The Beamer stands closer to the screen as the viewer, so that the fan noise is far enough away (better than having the hair dryer constantly over their heads has). I now run a dozen sci-fi blast and am thrilled! For 3D Unfortunately the necessary peripheral I lack ...

Among the positive things I have now probably say little, the projector does what he is and what I expect.
Nevertheless, a little criticism:
- The USB cable is definitely too short (96cm)
- The cover of the charger socket on the Acer-Pen is constantly loose and then depends only on the rubber fuse

But these are things that are only indirectly related to the projector and not unsolvable are (I have for stationary use now 10m cable (HDMI, VGA, USB, power) concerned, the other coming in the bag for mobile use.

Anyone looking for a projector for Präsenationseinsatz, get here a good universal device with super extras! An "Educational Projector" can also be better to settle; o)

Addendum: I thought if that's a 3D projector, then you try now times of 3D. So worried 3D BluRay player (eh wanted a second player), a couple of movies and glasses. The connoisseurs will now laugh, but unfortunately I did not know that 3D-ready does not mean that you only need a matching setter and a pair of glasses, no, it means that you can watch a 3D movie only on a PC, the but then has to run via HDMI, otherwise the rights management makes the door tightly. Without HDMI 1.4 input or an Optoma 3D-XL box you can check off the movie experience. Glasses and films go so because of "incompatibility" back. Yes, yes, I just fell for it, that just some effective advertising Tags are a small addition to air numbers. It does not matter does not change the properties desired of me.

Again in one sentence: this "3D" -Beamer + 3D glasses + 3D BluRay player = no 3D !!!

With the new player to me an interesting behavior is noticed: this provides as standard a 24Hz-Cinema signal to the projector. Thus, the fan speed and therefore the noise level goes again down significantly ... but no reason to be happy because you simultaneously suddenly perceives a single frequency (I guess times on the color wheel), which is now a bit of an (albeit slight ) yowl recalls. In quiet movie scenes annoys me that, so I have the player is fixed at 720p and receive the previous 60Hz with a "fair", but less annoying fan noise.

Second Addendum: Now I arrived in the 3D world !!!

On e..y I shot me a low OPTOMA 3D-XL Switch Box.
I connected the box between 3D BluRay player and projector. Unfortunately, while the signal of the box is detected at 120 Hz, but this is not interpreted as a 3D. So you see both images superimposed. Now you can activate the 3D DLP glasses and provides an accurate picture, but no 3D, because the frame rate still would have to be inverted. That's not the projector, as long as he does not hold the signal for 3D, the corresponding menu items are not accessible.
I found the following solution for me: I connect to a laptop with HDMI output to the second HDMI input, this is set to XGA with 120HZ (more can not) and whoosh ... the Beamer announces 3D! Now I can invert the fields in the menu and switch back to the other HDMI input and see there correct 3D. Maybe this is also a solution to other Acer Beamer owners.
I was hoping that once set the inversion would be enough, but no, I have to do it again every time Beamer restart.
This is now no shortcoming of the box but the Acer projector, but, dear producers, take nevertheless simply times the phone in your hand or write an email and talk time about it!

Otherwise, I can only say. On a 120 "ratio screen, the 3D experience is just gigantic Anyone who has seen Avatar in 2D only, although who knows the plot, the film has not seen It's just a totally different perception..
