What surprised me the fact that the weight of the device (after all, just 170g) to keep the "haptic impression" a valent object in his hand has rather increased in me. When I picked up the Galaxy S2 in the hand me the lightweight racer from Samsung somehow so ne DVD case reminds ... So both the material as well as in weight (of course the device still good was processed, dear Samsung fan base) ... but the haptic impression here is completely different! The experience of the first days:

As the reviews I already vorwarnten: So the device is not for the "business man", be around the clock "connected" to the needs and wants. Unless you always drags 2-3 spare battery packs. What can I say, I am not the "professional testers" and I have no special measuring instruments. As a result, I am of the opinion that the performance and brightness of the display are not objectionable. Whether the "red" represented not so "lifelike Red" is as loud benchmark XY at the "Blessed Super AMOLED Plus Special ganz toll-Retina" should possibly be, I can not say. I love the crisp colors and a be said: the "AMOLED" display of Samsung Galaxy S2 I have personally tried out what the display of the Optimus 3D is the reading options in terms sunlight but significantly better. Which display but as "crystal clear" or "colorfast" is now ... I can not say at this point. What's ok, me personally but now is a little disturbing the display resolution. The operating system:
So much has been said and written that I will not go into it on Android. The installed here version of Android, however, reveals light and shadow and that must not remain anonymous: I was in use up to now quite diverse crashes that all others as I like (eg at night, when me the phone was supposed to awaken in the morning: was naturally nothing because it is for any reason simply ausschaltete - and no, it was not the battery, the unit was on the power supply) - annoying! In addition the unit after a certain number of installed apps seems to be slower. I had a situation where I have pressed "Accept call" and only 3-4 seconds later, the opposite was then actually "in line". With my other androids I do not have this problem. In fact, I had this problem but only after some time of use. Do not know which it has to do, but somehow I have a feeling it might just be because I've installed more apps than the Optimus 3D can "handle". Android 2.2 is installed upon delivery, an update to 2.3 has replenished LG, however, is not quite up to date, and LG has been rightly criticized for this but often very slow update policy ... the update can be safely installed, you lose your data , settings, installed cloud services etc, ... not. Also another negative aspect I will not conceal here: Who plays a lot and wants to use the full splendor of the "3D Games", which should know that, for example, Gameloft games (and that's just the relevant manufacturers for these 3D games ) is not so easy on the SD Card Installing LEAVE !. Yep, this is indeed a problem, because the internal memory of 8 GB, of which about 4 itself should stay for Android "reserved", then a bit tight. While there is a trick how the game files of games by means of tools (which the references to the files in the respective Installer APK rewrites) but then on the "external" can move memory card, but the white average consumer is not necessarily and therefore is already the one point deduction from a star worth. Sorry LG, but that is definitely not so, and this problem is known in particular for LG devices. Also for example, the P990 had these difficulties. Why is that? Well, probably it does not create LG from whatever reason (so far at least) to mount the SD memory card with the internal memory as "internal", it is specially mounted and behaves rather like an external hard drive. Is clear that one usually does not install a game on an external hard drive, you do not do the computer normally, too.
The GUI of LG:
Nearly all major manufacturers of Android smartphones put on the "pure Android" own interface over it. HTC has its "Sense", Samsung be "Touchwiz" Motorola be "Motoblur" LG and state his personal GUI of the I do not even know how to say. Positive thing is the fact that these GUI quite a bit of small widgets mitliefert that you usually have to pick out laboriously in Android Market together. Negative thing is that of course you something "given" gets what one at the one point or another the little bit of "freedom of choice" takes. What I mean is that just when many Android users attach importance to the fact that they can set up everything themselves and adjust. But these are actually more luxury problems. In my view, the GUI of LG expands its "pure" Android to various useful functions, these "hidden improvements" seem very well thought out and often help in detail everyday really on. I do not want here but also save entirely to criticism and noted that to me personally so many icon and menu simply "too colorful" is ... you probably wanted to convey a lot of "iPhone-Feeling" in its own Android devices and it is my think a bit 'too much iPhone Feeling "became ... (and that's where I do not really like my iPhone and the iOS anyway me's already too much). It has somehow always feel all the time to look in the window of a candy store. but that's a matter of taste and I then decided to use the GO Launcher from the PlayStore and selected a more subtle skin.
What the Optimus 3D so special: the 3D effect
Well, for every Freak really an absolutely strong feature. LG sponsored his Optimus 3D, a special 3D menu, which is accessible via an app icon or using the special 3D button on the side of the device. Since then comes the first time on this "Ohhhhh" and "Ahhhhh" Feeling. LG has with this menu the 3D Efekt also a little separated from the smartphone Android everyday which I personally find very good. What I mean is that you then get 3D when you want it and when it makes sense (eg in 3D movies, 3D photos, 3D games and so on ...). A 3D battery level indicator widget, for example, belongs probably more in the cathegory "superfluous" and whether a "3D calendar" would be incredibly useful, I venture to take this opportunity once also doubtful. In addition, eye and brain have then not so much to do in everyday use with the 3D effect, the hard fact also quite in! Personally, I have now not yet driven the test and looked at a whole movie time in 3D, however, anyone interested should look at such a device times more accurate "live" before it by struggling to the purchase decision, because every person is different and there may be people, already after 10 minutes 3D experience for an aspirin shouting ... so it should really test each individually. Personally, I have, however, (still) been seen more than 30 minutes at a time 3D, my eyes watered and not headaches I had none. And yes, it really made 3D! It has almost the feeling "reach into" in the display to be able to, but you have already look at the right angle on it and this technology - how to say - "absorb biologically" ...
I would like to make an addendum: I also own the HTC Evo 3D as a direct competitor to this model and the 3D feature is here in my experience better and much plastic in this device. Although "3D vision" very individual and difficult to measure, as it is very on the 3D receptivity of man arrives but I would advise anyone of his attention on the 3D feature sets more about this device because the Evo rates.
Conclusion:
Whether this 3D effect will prevail in the width will certainly depend also and above all from the content. If no one feels like on 3D when no games developed for it (or buying) and adjusts Nobody 3D photos or funny 3D videos YouTube3D, then this gimmick may run fast again dead, but that remains to be seen. Per today, has not even "3D TV" can really prevail in the living room (as I said, still simple enough digital content, the 3D for the masses make worthwhile). Regardless, however, the LG Optimus 3D is a good smartphone with just one small eye-catcher "more" and there are just people (like me), the "more" to leave this.
