The road to the new world disorder: 50 years of secret ambitions of the United States (Paperback)

Customer Review

I just close this book, therefore this is a reaction "hot". I will not get into a summary of this work, firstly because the number of subjects developed makes it difficult to exercise, and then because any attempt to write a review would not do credit to the author, his book and its scholarship - even if this criticism was negative. I would easily say that Peter Dale Scott is a great, an immense author, and that this kind of book is too rarely ...

As stated so well the back cover, "Some people probably will cry to the 'conspiracy theory', but the quality of the argument, supported by an encyclopedic documentation of this work is a masterful and exciting history lesson Contemporary, which plunges us into the meanders of the rivalries of those who hold the real power, to understand the world as it is, not as it seems. " There is nothing more true. Indeed, the author is a seasoned historian - anti-war activist Daniel Ellsberg near - documenting his argument by numerous sources blameless: This book contains over 110 pages of endnotes notes, approximately 100 Notes by chapter, in which Peter Dale Scott is not content to cite the page and references of a particular book, or parliamentary inquiry autobiography of powerful men (etc.) but clarifies, shades, notes that contributions it uses ... So mention that this work is documented is an understatement. This book is highly documented! And the argument that develops - often critical of the foreign policy of the United States - is still relevant as it is nuanced, thoughtful and constructive.

Unquestionably, academic rigor prevails in this work: "The Road to the New World Disorder" is a call to Peter Dale Scott to a strengthening of civil society peacefully to limit the concentration of power in the hands of the Intelligence unit and defense of the United States - a "monster" increasingly obese for too long that diverts money from the US taxpayer (and countries subject to the status quo of petrodollars) to ever more gargantuan defense budgets. Today, said budgets generate destructive and destructuring conflicts for both peoples attacked for the American GI of the less privileged class that has no choice to finance their education than starting a year in a particular hell . This "monster" is the embodiment of Military- Industrial Complex (MIC) that President Dwight D. Eisenhower denounced courageously in his historic speech of end of term in January 1961. Realizing how this CMI became gradually a military-financial-energy complex beyond any democratic control is shocking and revolting, hence the importance of this book.

By not launching into a simplistic negative criticism of America, the author makes a relevant distinction between public State (constitutionally controlled democracy and limited by cons-powers) and deep state (ie agencies intelligence and the military ruled by secrecy, which act according to private interests, undemocratic and often criminals at the expense of state and public US company). Thus, the author explains the path that led to the disaster of September 11 - still unsolved tragic event that marked free expansion of the deep state. To denounce the shortcomings of the Government Commission on September 11, including the author uses sources such as public statements by the Minister of Civil Aviation of the United States under George W. Bush (Norman Mineta), or the autobiography of the director against terrorism under Bill Clinton and George Bush son (Richard Clarke), who unanimously contradict the official version drawn up in 2004. This shows the seriousness and rigor of this indispensable work ...

So - and for many other reasons - I highly recommend this book to Peter Dale Scott, because I have rarely read such a relevant book, documented, argued and exciting! A perfect and timeless gift that - like good wine - will improve with age. A major book of contemporary history - unconventional and very informative - that is gaining more and more relevance, and which will be transmitted from one generation to "understand our world as it is and not as it appears to be" in the words of the editor.

Sincerely,

François
