If you only have 2 computers connected via a switch, so it is a bit too elaborate for you: it is only useful as part of an office, and / or if you have servers, otherwise the investment is not worth the trouble. For my part, I have 3 computers + NAS server connected via a wired network (I do not want my house to Wi health issues). And indeed, in this context, I am rather satisfied with the result. It allows me to work without problems with 2 monitors connected via the switch to 3 CPUs, plus a display connected directly to the computer that I use most. For me, the real work of comfort is especially at the opportunity to share 2 screens (usually the basic switch share only one screen). This switch also has four USB 2.0 jacks, allowing to connect, in addition to keyboard and mouse, other devices. For me, this is my printer and my calibration probe. Finally it offers audio / microphone. For cons, I deplore 3 things: 1) He could have a HDMI connection (only DVI and VGA), which I find amazing, especially at this price. You may say that many monitors are not equipped with HDMI ... Anyway, the DVI is not the panacea either, as the cables do not always match (hello round adapateurs DVI-A, DVI-D and DVI-I ...). 2) USB ports could include at least one USB 3.0 3) Case a little more specific: I can not connect the switch to my UPS because the power cable is not suitable, which is a shame. Finally, I'm glad I did switch, but it is really suitable for professional use (for my part I work at home.)
Update 1/12/2013: In the end, after a few weeks of use, I am much more mixed on this switch. I first passes a hassle to find the right connections, and the cost of cabling and adapters (for me, one VGA and one HDMI monitor with DVI) ... galley which is still not completed nowadays! Moreover, as pointed out one of my colleagues, it is sometimes faced with micro cuts: the screens become black and the image comes back. It gets annoying after a while. But the most painful is having too regular keyboard and a wireless mouse that no longer meet - or very bad. Unbearable. So, I come to ask me if I will continue with this material!
