So we are driven to the stores and there have the equipment extensively tried and tested.
In the Philips HTS 7200 we are then stuck and the equipment was purchased.
I would not count too many technical details here, which you can watch on the manufacturers website.
Appearance:
The plant looks very sophisticated and high quality of the player itself has a brushed aluminum housing, it is above black lacquer with a sensor control unit (without mech.Knöpfe) and a display.
The two satellite speakers are on glass feet, have a lacquer black housing with brushed Aluniniumrahmen.
The subwoofer has a black finish and a Lackschwarze top
All in all, thumbs up, the thing looks from top.
Connections:
Laterally in the player:
USB and MP3 (no I-Pod connection)
Rear:
Speaker, 2xAUX RCA, Digital Coax, Optical, Video OUT, the Pr Pb Y ports, HDMI, LAN, FM antenna
Once set up and adjusted (language, OSD language, etc.), the operation is simple and is no puzzle in.
It is absolutely a TV (LCD or Plasma) needed with HDMI input, only ever a connection and an image output in the appropriate quality is possible because SCART was yesterday.
Prima: It includes all necessary cables (also HDMI) supplied.
Sound and Image:
Who for the first time a movie on BluRay look at and subsequently inserts a DVD, is not astonished badly as starkly the difference in quality between the two systems is! An absolute eye-opener! The images are crisp and sharp and full of sound and clear.
Needed to read in a BluRay disc the unit for about 10 seconds, this is when the amount of data but normal.
Generally one can select preset equalizer sound and surround sound, additionally, you can adjust the treble and the bass still separately. This provides good, clear and powerful sound from any media.
CD playback:
Music CDs do not sound as powerful as the sound on BluRay, a significant improvement manages here to copy the CD to a flash drive and play it (I have a 2GB stick with mitlerweile about 20 CDs in WMA format) improves the sound, dynamics, amazingly clear.
FM radio:
40 transmitters can but the supplied cable antenna is stored (a piece of wire) is not worth much. (Here in the mountains hardly reception) but you can connect a proper FM antenna.
I hear anyway my favorite stations via satellite, the audio output from the satellite Reciver I have fed into the system, there are indeed 2 AUX inputs. TV sound and satellite radio will also run it and as always: Super Sound!
all in all:
I would buy the system again. She has convinced me so far in workmanship, appearance and performance.
Prima sound, high quality and madness picture!
Made very neat, Philips!
I forgive this 4 star, a small deduction there for the missing I-Pod docking station and for the somewhat weak FM radio, but that could also be due to a lack of proper antenna in our house.
