It is with some sadness that I have finished this novel that concludes 6th Vampire Academy. In my library, the saga throne in place of honor with eg Harry Potter or Deverry. Honestly, this is not a revolutionary saga. It is well written with lots of good words but the literary style is not impressive. The history and the universe created by Richelle Mead are addictive but not of great depth and complexity. For me, the great strength of the series lies in a beautiful gallery of characters, and all very well chewed alive. That's what makes these so endearing novels! There's nothing to say I will miss these characters - but I hope I have the opportunity to review them in the saga spin off Bloodlines. What a pity that the film based on volume 1 had made a flop, I would have loved to see the adaptation of other books.
This sixth volume picks up where the 5 stopped right in suspense, and the rest of the novel keeps the reader spellbound with big adventures and great emotion. Some elements not fully resolved at the end lets hope a follow up in Bloodlines. (And I repeat: if you have not read this tome 6, DO NOT READ the summary or the 4th Bloodlines coverage otherwise make you more revelations spoiler!) Last Sacrifice is at the height of a particularly friendly saga, which I reread with pleasure one day.
