This is my first novel by Camilla Lackberg. I discovered it in audio version and I liked it! The action takes place in Fjällbacka, a small town on the Swedish coast. The atmosphere created is nice and oppressive at once. The cold climate contrasts with the warmth of the protagonists. The main characters are the same as in the other novels. I loved the lighthouse torque Patrick Hedström / Eric Falck. Patrick is the city police inspector and Erica, pregnant with twins, is a writer. I find their couple touching and both are very endearing.
The siren is a great psychological thriller. The suspense is present until the end of the story. We try to unravel the son of this complicated investigation, but in vain. It was not until the final pages to know who is behind these murders and to finally know who is the siren?
As for the audio version of this title, it is narrated by Jean Christophe Lebert. The latter is an actor from the Higher National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. He plays in theater and was nominated for Molières in 1987 for his role in Harold and Maude. He managed to prolong the suspense and make us feel the heavy atmosphere that prevails in Fjällbacka. I found her very pleasant narration.
The Siren is the 6th volume of the adventures of Patrick and Eric Hedström Falck. I really had a great time with them, and it makes me want to discover the previous installment of their adventures.
