It is the story of Angela, the eldest, Justine and Babé, the youngest, raised as sisters by their grandmother, it is that of Blanche, daughter of Angela, the three high previous and it is that of Violet's daughter Blanche, too high in the previous four.
It is therefore through the history of this tribe of women and mothers, which begins in the 60 and extends to the present, the reader can explore maternal relations, but also below the couture and high fashion, or those of journalism all on background of emancipation and feminism.
Blanche is the narrator. She looks back on her life, her mother and aunt to meet her daughter who asked, there are years, "Where I come from? Who am I? (...) Who is my father , Mom? " His daughter, who lives in Paris, which speaks to him and just gave birth to a boy, but had said nothing of her pregnancy to her mother. It's time. And it was during the TGV route linking Paris to Toulouse, Blanche reveals her history, their stories, their history.
I devoured this book. I let myself be sucked into this novel and I could not let go until the end (I had the good idea to wait until the holidays to start!). I liked the characters, who are all these women but in their own way, both strong and independent but also so fragile and in which we find ourselves inevitably a little. I also liked the writing, light and fluid, transport & eacutee me; in every place, every situation and every event as if I was there. I laughed, I cried, I doubted, I raged, I hoped with each of these women, and since I closed the book, I confess that I lack a bit .
