Here I use the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX100V had then first purchased, but was not really happy with it, especially with regard to the image quality ..... too many pixels on a small sensor to rel =. quick high noise! The color fidelity was not particularly good, since usually more easily reddish and saturated; the sharpness and the fast AF were fine, but fully zooms the image quality was also more moderate - and the zoom range even smaller than the Canon .. And the posh stuff surprises again GPS, 3D pics or compass I do not need at a Cam.
Also in the Cam menu I was too cumbersome.
So I sent the cam back to the dealer and then hosted the new Canon SX40HS.
Have them for a week now in use and am completely thrilled!
It proposes the Sony by a mile! (Even if it is not about a comparison of the two cams here).
Image quality, color fidelity are top and also the noise Ever Hold! Even in high ISO range very little not to !!! The menu is clear and also the Quick menu (shortcuts) is fixed to reach and all major camera settings available. Unlike the Sony is already an external charger included.
Fully zoomed out I was really surprised about the very good image quality, sharpness, color, contrast = 1A!
Slight weakness has the Cam only in automatic white balance, which could meters. E. be better coordinated. And what is also in need of improvement, and for me the greatest deficiency of this Cam:
Man can indeed buy more an adapter tube and Geli, but the Geli does not fit into the cam when the adapter tube (regardless of whether with or without filters) is attached! That is, you have to own this Geli tinker or remove the adapter tube if you want to use the Geli. So you can also have or then must be flat on the Geli waive No filter on the Cam.
I think that's really very, very poor from Canon that is saved there in an otherwise so high cam in such things.
The display could vd resolution ago surely be superior, but it also consumes less power, and the battery life is really good!
And also it is foldable, ie it saves an extra screen protection.
Super is also the turbo quick start after switching on and the quick AF.
In addition, the Cam is comfortable to hold. Could only imagine that the handling is a bit difficult for people with very large hands, because the grip is advised rather a bit small.
Have now a few test videos made in full resolution. Again, I am impressed by the real action. Class sharpness, fine clay, no shocks!
What more do you want?
So I can really recommend the Cam, it dominates the huge zoom range Excellent at a top image quality.
Therefore, 5 star (despite the minimal defects) !!!
