In the end, convinced me by and through the system and exceeds my expectations.
Here you'll find still a very nice test on the NAS: [...]
The processing power is absolutely sufficient, upload is quick and comfortable even with larger amounts of data, even in mirrored drives.
What I particularly liked:
If you hochläd images he generates thumbnails. That can take on my big photo collection for a long time and fully utilize the CPU. Other NAS vendors have here how often reading problems with the cheaper versions.
Here, there's a simple solution: The task to generate thumbnails per se (ie, not per image but in general) can be a simple click in the interface can pause or postpone. Because then you can simply say that you want the move up to 6h, then he works at night just because if you do not need that thing anyway. If he is still not ready in the morning, just pause or move on. Excellent thought along!
The only thing that worries me at the beginning:
1) Automatically a Synology Hybrid RAID-specific model is used. But I specifically wanted to Raid-1, and since I had to google a bit until I found out we changing the retrospectively. (In the end, you have to delete the already furnished Volume again completely, any data is lost, then you get a menu where you can manage it comfortably).
2) The web interface tempts to use only the icons on the web desktop. Really important is the menu bar in the top left. Stuff with a Gnome Linux, for someone of Windows or KDE is accustomed simply not intuitive. But if mans white then all is well and the cause of this "problem" also sits clearly in front of the computer)
I have this thing with me in the living room, in a small niche between sideboard and shelf. Does not fall on, quietly, what more could you want. Theoretically, you can indeed stand the anywhere as long as there are NEN Netzwerkstecker there. But you could present that too, it's really very nice.
The cloud functionality I first used not because I have to yet to read what security concerns. But what is beautiful, you can also generate certificates or can be integrated and generated. But as it goes on I have to even look at.
Nicely perhaps would more widgets.
PS: Nice side effect: I have it readjusted it in the morning starts at 8 and at night goes to 1 if I have not yet turned on my router is also the NAS only in the sleep mode, only when I turn on the router is also the (makes yes also useful when it has no network connection it does not need to be!).
