This NIKKOR 1: 1.8g is absolutely strong on my D7000. I can compare this lens against my older 50mm lenses because I have almost all. At the forefront of this now AF 1: 1.8g (1): Even at full aperture sharp right into the corners; then AIS MF 1: 1.8 (2): also at open aperture sharp right into the corners but slight coma; AF-D 1: 1.8 (3): slight blur and coma in the corners; AF 1: 1.8 (without D): also blur and clear coma. As I have tested there? There is nothing more challenging than astrophotography. Any blur, each coma, astigmatism and color variations are visible. I've been using all lenses made shots and pulled my conclusions. Even without Astrophotography leaves this lens with me a strong impression. All recordings are sharp, when dealing properly with the (auto) focus. Mechanically the 1: 1.8g also OK, but the trend toward more plastic is obvious. CP
