Vivendi Universal Interactive uses its license from Tolkien books very well. While tens of games appear that turn directly to Lord of the Rings, now "The Hobbit" will be displayed. Who does not know this is the history of Lord of the Rings. In the book as well as in the game is about, that Bilbo Baggins is caught by Gandalf in an adventure. Initially, I was skeptical that it would create the game's history and the flair convey properly. The best I go only one on the individual aspects of the game. The Story: The game sticks incredibly close to the book presentation. Only a few minor aspects are omitted or added sealed. But this is completely ok. Finally, one can not completely describe a book with a game. The Graphic: You can see the graph clearly indicates that it is not up to date. However, great attention was paid to detail in the day. At most the Shire looks. Here the rich, colorful and suitable for Buchgrafik come to its best advantage. Although Bilbo's Cave Bag End is not great, but it just looks great. From the graph ago, there is only one level that can compete with the Shire: The Troll Cave (outside, not in the caves). There are two types of cutscenes; once the story with drawings (which I find very beautiful and fit) retold and at major events (such as the scene with Gollum or Smaug etc) render sequences. These sequences come certainly not at the present level approach, but I find them all together very appropriate and consistent. The only negative aspect is the camera. She makes frequent times problems and you like to lose even one or more opponents in the eye. Worse, when the camera can not be adjusted properly and you have to jump at random is. The camera is to blame for some "death" of the Hobbits. The sound: Although the sound is not outstanding, but just like the graphics, it fits easily to the game. The songs emphasize mostly that associated level. A pompous sound like Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, however, you may not expect. Would eventually also not suitable for the game. Contrary to popular belief, I find the very successful synchronization. Pastian Pastewka (from Wochenshow) speaks for example Bilbo. Only the voice of Gollum wants a not quite like. But all in all the individual dubbing voices are well chosen (who played the game The Fellowship, which is likewise of Vivendi Universal Interactive, who knows even the voice of Gandalf already). Gameplay and levels: The game is clearly a Jump & Run. Control transfers here very well from the hand. After a few moments you have full control of Bilbo and makes him elegantly master every danger. The levels are usually relatively large. To mention is the great and very fair structure of levels. Do not save üb erall throughout the levels, but only to save points, but they are fair and in heaps over the level distributed (solely in the Shire, where it would be necessary hardly, there are 4 memory points). Unfortunately, the memory and above all the load times of each level are very long (sometimes up to 2 minutes). When passing one must not wait thanks to God but long since the Lewvel is already in memory and you will be taken to the last save point (where you last gesaved). Conclusion: Personally, I enjoyed the game a lot of fun (and actually I play no Jum & Runs). However, some frustrating moments (mainly "thanks to" the camera) came on. So I'm often died a few times as it was necessary. But this is easy to cope with the high number of memory points. What's not to cope with, are the far too long loading times! Until a level loaded, you can also go ever make coffee in peace. This game I put them to my heart, the Lord of the Rings like and always wanted to know how the ring actually came to the Shire. Also any Tolkien fan I can recommend this game.
