The card did not come with any accessories in prime service by cardboard envelope (packed in a small plastic protective cover) the following day. The matching current TWO separate driver (1x 1x WLAN and Bluetooth) I had already downloaded and ready to install at Intel. The installation was carried out within 1 minute. Laptop launched map easily recognized, installed drivers - and I surf here with the new wireless card.
With my Fritz! Box 7490 the new wireless AC card has the first connection made with only 400Mbit / s. This is probably due to an adjustment in a Fritz! Box menu. Under Settings "WLAN" / "radio channel" find "WLAN Coexistence active". If I remove the check mark there, I reach links to 866.7MBit / s. However, according to AVM the connection is less stable than with "WLAN Coexistence active" - if the same spark many other routers in the vicinity and cause interference. The net data transfer rate can therefore be greater with hooks, as without. Who "alone" sparks, can leave the check mark and still obtain a stable connection with high net data rates. Whether with or without the check mark I am now noticeably faster on the road in my wireless / Gigabit LAN than before with the slower WLAN card. In my GigaBit network to reach with the new AC-card net data rates of nearly 35MB per second (to other PCs and also to my Synology DiskStation DS413j).
A little tip for people who spark in a wireless 2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same SSID (for example, possible with Fritz! Box). There is an option in Windows in the device properties of the INTEL 7260-Fi card in the device manager. There you can select one that the card preferred compounds to 5GHz produces when under the same SSID and 2.4GHz are available simultaneously. Thus the card so combines in doubt preferred the faster 5GHz access.
The Bluetooth connection with my FoxL v2 Platinum speakers worked right away, the pairing. With my Samsung Galaxy Note II at the 2nd attempt Other devices I will test later, but do not expect any problems.
From my perspective, this investment has paid off!
