Adopted by our son very quickly, 10 months now he types on everything with, is above the teeth (not necessarily on the cutter) by cons we have spent in the water for washing baby bottles, water was back inside the ball, not top on this point (stagnant water breeds bacteria).
Edit of 29/01/2015: Finally, the rattle broke over time (unlike other toys or rattles) after a final fall on the floor. So if you have kids who throw toys or clap with, do not buy this kind of rattle, but leave about a rattle cloth or equivalent, for example.
