Benefits:
* Ease of preparation (water + powder + oil = done!)
* Only 230 kcal per meal (cooked with milk 320 kcal)
* Satiety lasts about 3-4 hours
* Rapid weight loss (about 1 to 1.5 kg per week in Phase 2)
* Without sweeteners, no added sugar
* High protein content, low in carbohydrates
* Sport can, you do not make (do not put too much value on the scale at sport because increased muscle building = beginning any weight-standstill or even increase!)
Disadvantages:
* In Phase 1 dizziness and headaches may occur
* 3 meals a day, no snacks allowed except vegetable!
* Flashy halitosis arises (I recommend mouthwashes or capsules / tablets with chlorophyll and / or parsley)
* 4-5 hours between meals should be (requires self-control!)
* Evening cravings may arise (hold home-cooked vegetable broth ready!)
* Fruit is limited to recommend (for the fructose)
* In the long run the Shake is monotonous (though there are also recipe ideas or variations)
* In the long term risk of malnutrition (eg hair loss and broken nails, with me after about 1/2 year)
* Problems with digestion can occur (a good help for constipation are psyllium husks)
* One can contains only powders for about 10 shakes (depending on the required quantity of powder, see leaflet)
* The price is quite high (my tip: Compare Internet pharmacies)
Hints and tips:
* The taste is similar to liquid semolina (slightly sweet, floury) and is not for everyone (can be spiced up with such as: cinnamon, baking flavors, unsweetened cocoa, sip coffee, cold tea)
* Shake oil should not be neglected (certain vitamins contained in the powder can only be exploited thanks to the oil, which is important to prevent malnutrition!)
* Prepared meals should Phase 2 only max. 500 kcal have (good help here is also the Almased cookbook)
* Last meal should ideally be taken to 19 clock (otherwise could sleep problems)
* Shake the drink slowly (support satiety, which does not occur until after about 20 minutes)
* Drink plenty of liquids (preferably water) in addition fills the stomach and supports the metabolism
* Do not be alarmed: neon yellow urine is produced (because of an increased protein degradation)
* Almased is not recommended in soya or fructose intolerance (the latter because of the honey contained)
* If lactose intolerance gillt: Try! (I have a slight intolerance and tolerate Almased good)
* Base agents, intestinal flora funds and additional minerals may be necessary
* A little coffee is unsweetened allowed (sugar can increase insulin levels - prevents fat burning)
* Chew sugar-free chewing gum is allowed (without chewing something can to swallow for some, however, trigger feelings of hunger!)
* Sweetener does not inhibit the decrease (because there is no effect on insulin levels) but it can trigger cravings! (Eg also Cola Light / Zero)
* In between are weight shutdowns of 1-2 weeks normal, not give up hope! :-)
* On the Almased homepage there are many useful information (eg Q & A)
* After the Almased diet should be consciously pay attention to the diet to prevent the yo-yo effect!
Conclusion:
All in all I give the Almased Vitalkost 3 stars because there are many advantages but also many disadvantages. I personally recommend this diet for more than 1/2 perform year (due to the risk of malnutrition, which I had to learn himself), in the time it takes for consistent behavior from good, during which you should, however, learn to stick to a diet! Losing weight is easy - weight hold an art! ;-)
If this post was helpful and informative when starting Almased for them, I would be very pleased about a helpful voice and like to read also comments how they personally experience the advantages and disadvantages! :-) Good luck trying out Almased!
